The radio also has several new capacitors, replaced them because there were several bad or week and most of them were 10 volts. I also resoldered over 90% of the main board because I found several bad solder joints so I decided to resolder all of them. Note the Mic is for demonstration purposes only. The Faceplate also has some ware and some of the lettering is wore off as well normal ware and scratches from years of use. This can be fixed with a new vinyl one from several sellers here on eBay. I use debsdecals myself. The radio transmit good and and hears well. It is with in manufacturer specs. The receive is good but is a little scratchy on the low end or the far away stations. As you can see from the pics it transmits and hears great! I cleaned all the control pots and replaced the Squelch Pot because it was not working as good as it should. The bad part is the Transmit power is only.75 watt, or 750 milliwatt. Somebody tried to fix this and made a terrible job on the PA rf section so this radio may or may not be repairable, so please assume this is for parts only or use it as is. No modifications have been done to this unit other then an unlocked clarifier for better side band tuning. The Cobra is in very good condition. There are very few minor marks or scratches. Elliott VM1020 A.D. VHF mobile transceiver This is a PMR transceiver of hybrid(valve+transistor) design so probably dates from the early 1960s. It has a PA facility. So it may have been used by the police or similar services. Its a good example of the transition from valves to transistors. And it includes a transistor invertor to provide the HT for three valves fitted in the transmitter power stages. It also has a high level AM modulation system in its transmitter. It won't work as it stands as its missing the control unit. And inevitably some components will have failed.
