From the estate of an electrical engineer who did microwave/ radar research for the government, this window is a 4-3/4” dia. brass plate with a sheet of pure silver metal bonded to it, with the brass machined away to leave 2 rectangular windows of the silver(which I was told is transparent to microwaves) Weighs just over 15 oz. For sale are two Slingerland snare drums. The Red Sparkle Radio King is 5 1/2 x 14 stamped March 20. 1958. The snare handle has broken off( which happens often) The drum has the original wires and rims and a small split in the shell(see pic) at the lap joint(also common) but stable and"IN ROUND. The badge is a little loose but not too bad. The brass snare also is in original condition with original wires(one strand missing) Late 50s early 60s Black and brass badges on both drums. It is model number 90095-5 and comes complete with it's canvas storage bag. It is in perfect working condition and is cosmetically appealing. The wood is in very good condition, varnished and free from cracks and dents. There is one place where there is a chip of wood missing, but beyond that, it is a fine specimen. The extension legs are reversible, one end has spikes for stability in soil and the other has rubber feet. It has an ability to adjust to infinite heights and positions. For auction is an Arvin Model 9574 Superhet AM radio receiver. In a brown colored metal cabinet. I have added an input jack for iPhone/MP3 usage. Plugging in a stereo connector. As shown, disconnects the radio's RF circuit, so it is totally quieted, and there is no need to have to tune to a blank spot on the dial, to hear your MP3/iPod input clearly. Removing the plug restores normal AM reception. The four inch PM speaker delivers excellent monophonic audio. The cabinet is large enough to allow leaving a small music device inside of it. The white plastic carrying handle and knobs are in good condition. Electronically the set has had it's Electrolytic Capacitors changed. With new ones installed under the circuit board and out of sight, with the originals physically left in place to preserve the originality. An RF/IF alignment was also done. Using a B&K signal generator. T his radio works as it should. Delivering plenty of stations, and with good volume. I have replaced the original obsolete battery connectors with a modern nine volt battery snap connector for ease in powering it up, and am also including the originals as well, as can be seen in the next-to-last photo. Overall. A classic looking and working example of mid-twentieth century styling and technology, upgraded to accept 21st century devices.

Chelsea Radio Room Clock& Butterfly Key. Salem Barometer, Mahogany Mounting Here is a hard to find Chelsea Radio Room clock with its original butterfly key and a Salem barometer mounted on a solid mahogany board. The Chelsea clock is an 8-day clock and has been running perfectly for the last four days. It's hard to find them with the original butterfly key. But this one has it. The serial number 662867 dates the clock to about 1963. The clock is mounted in a solid brass case with a screw on bezel. The dial is in excellent condition. The Salem barometer was made in Germany and appears to be working correctly. The barometer case has several radial cracks around the margins(see photos) The radio room clock was developed after the RMS Titanic sunk in 1912. International regulations were adopted to require radiotelegraph operators to observe ... morethree-minute periods of silence at 15 and 45 minutes after the hour in order to listen for distress signals. That's the two red wedges on the dial. The regulations also required the radio room clock to have 4-second interval markers around the margin of the dial so that radiotelegraph operators could time their SOS signals which were sent every five seconds.
