1920s LUDWIG Vintage 12 x 15 MARCHING Snare DRUM w/ Case. Early 20's stamped oval badge. Very Good condition. Clean, some wear/ age. The wood is gorgeous& undamaged. The drum has been kept in it's case for most of it's life. Most of the hardware has some pitting& age. Everything still moves& works and the drum still sounds great! Evidently the hoops were changed to metal somewhere along the line? These hoops look& feel like Slingerland Radio King, and are obviously very old, but are unmarked. Both heads appear to be animal skin and are complete& undamaged. The top one is stamped"Slingerland Radio King" The inside is very clean and the bearing edge looks fine. All in all, a really solid drum with great original parts. 1935 Air-King Model 66 Skyscraper Globe Radio
This 1935 Air-King Model 66 Skyscraper Globe radio is fully restored internally and in working condition. This is a true classic vintage functional Art Deco piece. This is a very rare unit. There is a small crack in the casing due to the color of the unit it is very hard to see. I do know of a person who can work on this cover if need be(it's made of a special material) I have seen them sell from 3500 to 5k. With the crack in the shell I am lowering the price of the unit initially on the no reserve bidding. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. I have eight Slingerland Radio King 4" tension rods in good shape. Threads and heads are good but they could use cleaning. I don't clean anything usually but the threads if need be when I'm refurbishing vintage drums. I no longer need these as I sold my Rolling Bomber set. I measure from the shaft for length and don't include the head in my measurement.

Greetings. This is an early 40's Radio King 1 ply maple Hollywood Ace model in great condition. All original except the heads. Drum has yellowed evenly over the years. Shell is in round and does have some rering separation but is very solid. Wrap is tight, shinny, and free from defects. Rims are in great condition as well as throw off and butt plate. Lugs show wear but have no cracks. I never cranked this drum up or used it, this was just a show type collection piece. This is a great example of this era snare drum. 1959 Slingerland Radio King "The Super Gene Krupa Model" 14x6.5
You are bidding on a Black Diamond Pearl Super Gene Krupa Radio King manufactured by Slingerland in 1959. This is a solid maple shell with maple reinforcement rings. It has all original hardware. I've owned this drum for a couple years and according to the stamp inside the drum it looks like it was owned by a music school before I got ahold of it. The drum is in amazing condition. The shell and finish is almost perfect for being 55 years old. The hardware shows some signs of ware from over the years but is still in complete functioning order. Except for the throw off side of the"super strainer. the handle part has broken off as you can see from the pictures. Vintage Nickel Snare Drum Stand that came with Slingerland Radio King set Ludwig
Up for grabs is a used nickel snare stand. Not sure of the manufacturer but it came with a set of mid-50's Slingerland Radio Kings that I purchased years ago. It is fully functional however. It's old so there's some pitting and scratching. The rubber tips on the basket are intact but do have some splitting. It is an Original Slingerland 8"x 15" 3-ply Mahogany with Maple Re-Rings. This drum has 16"Triple Plated" Chrome over Brass Lug Casings and Extra Thick"Triple Plated" Chrome over Brass Hoops. Has the original 3-point Radio King Strainer and the Dual Pad Tone Control Muffler. Carries the pre-serial number Black& Gold Chicago Badge. 1955 Slingerland Krupa Radio King Snare Drum White Marine Pearl WMP Clamshell
This drum came to me with no strainer/butt and no tension rods. I found a strainer(and original wires) and it has the original handle. But the strainer is nickel instead of chrome like the rest of the drum and the handle is a little rough cosmetically. Rods are probably early 60s.but are in great shape. Other than that, all original and super nice! You don't notice the nickel throw unless you're really looking for it. COB hoops, early sound king lugs. Awesome drum! The drum sizes are as follows; 9" x 13" Tom. 14" x 22" Bass Drum, 5 1/2" x 14" Solid Maple Shell Snare drum. All drums are red sparkle finish with nickel plated hoops, lugs, t-rods and claws. Most parts appear to be original with the exception of a couple of screws and maybe some washers. The nickel plating seems to be in pretty good condition. Please refer to the above pictures. We only cleaned the years of dust off of them for the camera's sake. We also put new bass drum and snare drum heads. We also put Puresound snares. Vintage 1951 Slingerland Radio King Snare Drum Rare 7"x14" 8 lug 3 ply Shell NOB
Up for sale is this vintage 1951 Slingerland Radio King Snare Drum. Check out the 12 clear close-up supersize pictures to help describe this nice item. Some pictures are with a flash. Others aren't. The good: This is a rare Radio King snare drum as this medium oval badge was only used from 1951 to 1952. The badge is in excellent condition with an un-tampered with grommet. The taller 7" shell makes it even rarer model(7" x 14" 8 streamlined lugs model with a 3 point rapid snare strainer. Nickel plated top and bottom ~clip style~ rims(nickel over brass) 3 ply shell and the wood everywhere is super healthy and strong still. The shell is within 1/16" round everywhere. And has nice snare beds on the lower rock maple reinforcing rings. Red/gold lacquer finish. Original nickel plated butt plate on the drum too. The not so ... moregood: Listed as"parts or not working" because: As seen in the pictures a lot of the red/gold lacquer finish has come off with age. Only to expose a beautiful healthy shell, not all rotted out. This 3 ply shell looks to be mahogany on the inside and maple on the outside. The next thing to point out is half of the lugs are missing completely and some have cracks and one is completed broken but still has the spring and two inserts present. All 16 tension rods and clips are missing in action. Both heads need replaced, note: the ones I used in the picture were just for staging the two rims. You'll need snare wires too. More good: The throw-off is the super nice 3 point Radio King version in nickel plating and everything is complete and perfect on it. Even has the top handle/knob still. I see this exact throw-off sells for $140 to $185 by itself. I see the drum was never drilled for a muffler, AND the shell has no extra holes anywhere. SO. After reading the description and looking at the clear close up pictures you can see that this is an easy project to get back to a complete drum. A very nice example! Stamped Feb 62 inside. Only a few little dings in the finish(shown) and a little flaking under the collar of the drum head.which is minor and covered by the head. The wires are ludwig. But other than that the drum appears all original to my(pretty well trained) eye. Look at the pics and please let me know if you notice anything. I know Slingerland pretty well and it looks good to me. I notice that the snare gate has a number stamped on it, which I haven't noticed before. Maybe this is standard during this time though? No extra holes, and chrome is very good all around. Brand new bottom head.top is a coated emperor with a lot of life left. Shipping is free in continental USA. Here is a vintage Slingerland 12" x 8" radio king tom in black diamond pearl wrap from the late 50's early 60's era. Drum is in very good condition and comes complete with original nickel lugs. Dual pad muffler& diamond plate mount. Nickel hardware looks like it will clean up beautiful! You will need: rims. Tension rods& heads to complete the drum. BDP wrap is in excellent condition. Showing some minor fade for it's age. Seams are nice& tight. Shell is 3 ply with reinforcement hoops. Maple/mahogany& bearing edges look good, although might need to be cleaned up a bit. Someone spray painted the majority of the interior. Sometime back, with a light coat of flat black paint( see pics) This drum needs a little TLC to bring it back! This radio was removed for an upgrade just 2 weeks ago. It was working well when removed. But is being sold as is. The face plate is undamaged and looks good. All display digits operate normally. Serial# 3387. The nav indicator(KI-201C, serial# 5727, 2.8 lbs) shows some wear as shown in the photo. No glideslope. Some of the specifications for the radio taken from the brochure are: 760 comm/200 nav channels, 8 watts, weight 5# 6.25"x2.5"x11.5" It is designed to be electrically and mechanically interchangeable with the KX170& 175 series radios. Maximum current draw on transmit is 13.75 amps, 14 VDC. TSO'ed to C34e, C36e, C37d C40c. The brochure also states"Preselect channel storage capacity- 100" but I never used this feature. Slingerland Radio King drum set from the late 1940’s
Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This is a white marine pearl Slingerland Radio King drum set from the late 1940’s. Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4. Over the years it was converted to a rock set. Evidence of the updating is as follows: The bass drum rim has filled holes where the old spike hardware used to be. New spikes were added sometime in the early 60’s I think. They are mounted through the shell. I have the front wooden rim and the tuners. So all it needs is a head if you want one in the front. The dual tom tom hardware on the bass drum has been changed twice it seems by the holes under the present flange that are hidden but tell me there was another mount previously. The dual tom toms have filled holes where hardware was removed– probably the felt dampeners that adjusted the tone somewhat. Also. Different mounts for the previous ... morebass drum mount I’m assuming. The floor tom has the least amount of change over the years. Perhaps. However, the legs were added at sometime? All of the toms are missing the bottom rims and threaded tuning-rods. The lugs are there. However. This was typical of many rock sets. I never had them and never changed anything over the 40+ years I’ve owned the set. I changed pedals. Cymbals, hi-hats, etc. but nothing on the Slingerland Radio King set. There are no badges. The wraps have yellowed with age and have some dings and evidence of provenance. See pictures. This is a great live drum set and also for recording. Put tested with no antenna. one of the screens on the front is loose. The person I bought this from said it worked.

Right now it has a new Remo Skyntone Head on the batter and Clear Ambassador Snare Side. Pure Sound wires. I will change out the batter to a regular coated Ambassador if you want. No issues to speak of. The Hardware is purposely made to look aged so it has some imperfections but it is exactly the way it came from SJC so its basically new. I've only used it for light studio jazz stuff. Need to sell to fund some needed home repairs. Otherwise I'd hold on to this beautiful looking/ sounding one of a kind drum. Slingerland Radio King WMP 13 X 9 tom with key! Cigar Lugs BEAUTIFUL Cond. !
Absolutely beautiful all original early Slingerland Radio King 13 x 9 tom in White Marine Pearl wrap. This drum is in excellent condition for age but does show some pitting on lugs. Still has original Slingerland Supertone calfskin heads in excellent condition as well! Engraved hoops w/ clips shine bright and all wrap is lightly and evenly yellowed and is nice and tight with no seam lift. Interior of this drum looks almost new including the red felt top and bottom tone control mufflers. Slingerland bass drum hoop mount bracket is included and does have surface rust but can be cleaned up and polished. This drum also includes tuning key and mount.
