Vintage Sligerland Radio King Student model snare 5.5x14 60's 3 ply re-rings VGC
Up for sale is a gently used 1961 Slingerland Radio King Student model 5.5x14" snare drum in original mahogany finish. This snare features a 3 ply shell with a clean mahogany interior and maple reinforcement rings. Nickel plated hardware all around- 8 Sound King lugs. 3 Point strainer and nickel over brass single flange hoops with clips. This drum has a date stamp of Apr. 1961. This snare looks and sounds beautiful. The chrome is very clean with some minimal micro pitting.The clear coat finish is very clean but does show signs of use such as a few scuffs and light scratches. The interior is spotless and the shell has the original bearing edges. To the best of my knowledge, all parts on the drum are original with the exception of the heads and snare wires. 2 wires are broken but the snare is still very responsive. VINTAGE Slingerland RADIO KING white marine pearl DRUM SET FROM 1940'S -
PLEASE DO NOT BE AFRAID TO MAKE AN OFFER! This is a white marine pearl Slingerland Radio King drum set from the late 1940’s. Over the years it was converted to a rock set. Evidence of the updating is as follows: The bass drum rim has filled holes where the old spike hardware used to be. New spikes were added sometime in the early 60’s I think. They are mounted through the shell. I have the front wooden rim and the tuners. So all it needs is a head if you want one in the front. The dual tom tom hardware on the bass drum has been changed twice it seems by the holes under the present flange that are hidden but tell me there was another mount previously. The dual tom toms have filled holes where hardware was removed– probably the felt dampeners that adjusted the tone somewhat. Also. Different mounts for the previous bass drum mount I’m assuming. ... moreThe floor tom has the least amount of change over the years. Perhaps. However, the legs were added at sometime? All of the toms are missing the bottom rims and threaded tuning-rods. The lugs are there. However. This was typical of many rock sets. I never had them and never changed anything over the 40+ years I’ve owned the set. I changed pedals. Cymbals, hi-hats, etc. but nothing on the Slingerland Radio King set. Only cleaned and polished. There are no badges. The wraps have yellowed with age and have some dings and evidence of provenance. See pictures. If you need to see more pictures. 1940 No. 155 Slingerland Super Gene Krupa Radio King Snare Drum 7x14" with case
Slingerland Super Gene Krupa Radio King Snare Drum with cloth case. Model No. 155 7"x14" with Pearl Finish and Chrome Hardware. Sold by Frank's Drum Shop. 226 South Wabash Ave. Chicago IL. Single ply. Steam bent maple shell with maple reinforcement hoops top and bottom. All original. Including calf skin bottom head stamped with Frank's Drum Shop, Chicago Ill. Top drum head is the only non-original item on the drum. This drum is in excellent condition. Has never been restored, and needs no restoration. Ready to play. No modifications. Holes, or damage to the drum. Flaws? One of the 20 snare wires(end) missing. Chrome shines with virtually no pitting anywhere. Evidence for dating the drum to 1940-41: This drum model first appeared in 1940. It is a small bracket clamshell and was the only available in 1940-41- The patent for ... morethe clamshell was granted in 1942. The clamshell is stamped'patent pend' which places it at 1940-41. In 1942-43. The bracket was wood due to the war(Rolling Bomber models) By 1944. Only the large bracket clamshell was available. In my opinion. This is a 1940 drum, but there is no provenance. A small bracket strainer on a top of the line model with all options maxed. To me, indicates 1940. As large brackets became available. They would have been the choice by the end of 1940. Condition: Shell 10/10. No cracks or warping; bearing edges are mint, lacquer still shines. Interior is beautiful. Shell wrap: 9/10- extremely slight and uniform fade from original. No damage. Amazing display. Strainer& hardware: 9/10- Clamshell completely functional with no issues. No dents. Cracks or pitting. Baseball throw-off intact. Slides up/down as new. Displays as new. Muffler in mint condition and complete. Smooth working order. Chrome lugs shine beautifully. No cracks, normal condition expected for age. All tension rods in working order with no stripping on rods or lugs. Tight. Strong. Top"stick chopper" rim in excellent condition with no dings. Bottom rim in excellent condit

Hello. Up for auction today is a Vintage 1950's Slingerland Radio King Muffler in Excellent Condition. I am the only owner of this muffler as it was taken off of my Radio King that I had sold a while back. At the time I could not locate the muffler but found it while going through my vintage supply. 7x14 Slingerland Radio King Snare Drum - Beautiful One Ply Maple Shell!
Hi all. This 1940s era Slingerland Radio King snare is an excellent drum. It is a one ply maple shell. I have owned the drum for many years and have cared for it well. The drum has the original lug casings. Badge(included) and bottom hoop. Please see included photos. It has been modified with a Sonor standard snare throw off/butt plate and a Gretsch die cast top hoop. It is an excellent drum and sounds great! With the shell size of 7" x 14" it has a big warm tone, and works well for a variety of styles. The drum had a very worn paint finish when I bought it. I gently removed the old peeling paint, lightly sanded, then oiled, and the beautiful maple wood that you see now was revealed. The drum has not been oiled in some time and would be ideal to refinish/clear coat, etc. if desired. Modern 14" heads fit the drum and tune correctly. ... moreThey are a somewhat snug fit, but otherwise work as expected. It will ship in a well packaged and well padded oversized box. Up for auction is a vintage Slingerland Snare Drum with Radio King Head. It looks to be in the Black Diamond Pearl finish. It is in good vintage condition, the finish is starting to separate from the shell a little- see picture. There is one tiny hole in head, the bottom head is missing. one of the snare wires is broken. The inside of the wood shell is in great shape, with no cracks or breaks. This drum measures 15" wide x 12" tall. The badge dates this drum from 1948-1950. The lower tripod is brilliantly chrome plated. But the middle section and upper cymbal rod are raw steel. A older 1950's version of the slingerland cymbal tilter is affixed to the cymbal rod. New Danmar rubber tips have been installed on each of the tripod legs. This stand is very sturdy and it is fully functional. Small 1930s Air King Tabletop Project Radio With Saturn Dial
I have an older Air King tabletop radio for sale. This is a small tabletop radio that needs a refinish. But has a great dial. It would make a nice project. Case has been painted at some time or another. Unless you like brown paint. You'd want to strip it. I don't see any major veneer issues, but it's hard to know what that paint might be covering up. Strip and refinish and you'd have a nice looking radio. Dial looks great, neat Saturn motif. Knobs are present, one is pretty loose, needs tightening up. Chassis is dusty and dirty. Has some rust, and will need a total going through. New caps, check resistors, check controls, etc. It's untested- assume it won't work. This radio is sold as-is. Due to the numerous faults listed. About 30 watts, at 148-174 Mhz, but it would appear from some of the forums that these can be use for 2 meter work, and even narrow banded? The process of converting an LMH or LPH radio will only work on radios with Rev-2 radio firmware. The LMH/LPH conversion process will extend the lower frequency limit to 144MHz and give the radio 12.5KHz capability. It requires running a RELM program. LMR.EXE. Within the LMR.EXE program, select the advanced option and then the option codes. To change the lower frequency limit to 144MHz and add 12.5KHz capability, ... morethe four hexadecimal option codes must be changed to read 00DC(80DC for the LMH) 3F2B, E970, 195F. Here is neat Air King wooden radio with beautiful wood graining in the casing. Casing has some nicks and scuffs consistent with its age. Eye catching dial. There is some scuffing on the dial from where the dial needle was scraping it. But doesn't detract from the appearance. This is a working radio and it does pick up stations very clearly with lots of volume though there is a very low background hum between some stations. The electronics are unrestored. For this reason, please note, you're buying this as a non-playing antique. I'll do everything I can to get this to you in playing condition. Vintage 1961 SLINGERLAND 12" x 8" Rack / Mount Tom Black Pearl Wrap Radio King??
Here is a Rare November 1961 Slingerland Tom Drum. Has the Black Pearl Wrap& has 6 Lugs Top& Bottom and has the Reinforcement Rings Top& Bottom. Heads have been replaced. But still got a lot of life. The"Whitish Spots" you see in the photo's are the Gretsch Head and NOT inside the Tom. All the Rods match& have Washers. The Muffler works just fine& the Mount is Intact& Tight. The Rims are Chrome Over Brass and should clean up great. There are scuffs/scratches which I tried to show in the pictures, but I saw no cracks in the wrap or shell. It was marked"Radio King" when I purchased it years ago& this is PRE-BADGE Slingerland. HEAVY when Packed. Please ask any Questions you may have. I will Ship this Based on Zip Code in the U.S.A.
