Nice Yuasa (NEWS) 5C Collet indexer - Complete with Ratcheting Assembly
This is a nice clean horizontal& vertical 5C collet indexer. The label says"NEWS& Yamato Koki" NEWS was the importer of Yuasa tools before Yuasa International started importing directly. Yamato Koki is one of the 5 Japanese companies that manufacture Yuasa Tools. This unit is in very good operating condition. The spindle nose is very good. There is one small spot on the threads that looks like it was hit with a grinding wheel(see picture) The inside of the spindle nose is perfect. Both the horizontal and vertical mounting faces are nice with only light scratching. The unit grips very well and releases nicely.The unit has been thoroughly cleaned. Lubticated and repainted. The thread on the spindle nose is 2-1/4 X 8TPI so this accepts a number of common lathe chucks. Payment via Paypal only unless alternate arrangements are ... moremade before bidding. Bison 5 inch, 5C collet or (5 inch chuck) Speed Indexer
This is a machinist dream unit. With the built in capability for 5C collets or a traditional front mount 5 inch chuck this speed indexer can do it all. with the ability to set the indexing range from 0 to 120 degrees this unit is high quality all the way. The 5C collet in the picture Does Not come with this. The chuck mount screw hole's are 8mm with a standard bison flat face chuck pilot. I had a Phase II. 5 inch chuck on this that I machine the pilot to match and drilled thru for front mount installation to this unit, but I removed that chuck to install on my dividing head. I do not believe the 5C mount has ever been used. I did modify this unit for a series of boat parts I made, however this just removed the front mount leg that was never useful to begin with. As per the photos this unit is a 8.5 out of 10. The indexer is very tight ... moreand accurate, no rust, no damage just a clean good unit for the machinist who wants this kind of quality. I have a different type of 5C indexer and I bought a 8 inch Phase II indexer so I do not need this anymore. I will miss the infinite rage of indexer settings but my 5 inch dividing head will replace that function. This unit sells for close to $500 new. Good Luck on the bidding.
