Six Russian twisted handled spoons. They are a little less that 5 1/2" long. They are in great condition. Except one has a dent in the spoon head(pictures 1& 5, second spoon from the left) it's pushed in right in the center of the bowl. All the spoons need to be polish. From my research. These spoons are not"sterling" they are 875/1000. So, a little less then sterling. I believe sterling is 925/1000. Again. From my research, these spoons were made by Roman Aristarkhov, Moscow Russia, in 1892. But please look at the pictures, especially the maker's mark, and judge for yourself. Antique Chinese 7 Sided Reverse Painted Glass Panel w Women Pewter Tea Caddy Urn This is a nice Chinese antiquity. We believe it is from the late Qing Dynasty(late 1800s) I also believe it is pewter. But I am not certain. The tea caddy/urn is seven sided and each side has a panel of glass that has been reversed painted on with scenes of women-I don’t think there is a single man in any of the panels. The tea caddy is about 7” tall x 3-3/4” wide. This is a heavy piece and it weighs 2 pounds and 5 ounces. It is marked in“old” Chinese/Mandarin characters. I believe the marks are for Swatow-however. I am not sure. There are signs of wear such as dings. Dents, bent feet, etc. The lid does come off, but it is a tight fit. Up for sale is this great antique 1851 Austrian Silver Hot Water/ Tea Urn/ Dispenser. The Urn is a great piece of antique silver and is marked in many spots. Both the Urn and the stand have the Austrian Silver Hallmark with the date 1851 the city mark of A for Vienna and the 13 for corresponding to 13 loth for the silver quality with is 835/1000 silver; both the urn and the stand also are marked ES. After extensive research I have come up with a list of names that correspond with the date mark. The possible makers include: Eduard Steiner(active 1847-59) Eduard Sander(active 1846-62) Eduard Schacht(active 1844-67) and Emerich Scheinast(active 1840-53) Any further help narrowing the maker would be appreciated. The stand has the monogram of"HC" or"CH" towards the top of the stand. The urn has a beautiful ribbed body that ... morecorresponds with the ribbed body and legs of the stand, the piece has a ornate top handle that is beautifully adorned by a turned bone handle, the dispenser spout also has a beautiful scrolled silver design. The bottom has what appears to be BC TY84-135-74. 2206 8006m, and a mark of some sort and 1975 but please see the pictures to verify I read this correctly(the 135 could actually be something else) Also on the bottom is paper with the following printed on it: BC- 2-0,8 with lettering looking like"LI" and then 17 p. 50 k. I do no know how to interpret the information on the bottom. I also am including a manual(I include a pic of the front) and there is a bit more staining on the paper document than the picture shows. The manual is crumpled and a bit delicate and it is all in Russian I believe. It can be used to boil up to 3 liters of fluid. Antique Superior Silverplate Co. Quadruple Samovar Coffee Tea Water Urn, 1800's
This fabulous antique samovar was created by the Superior Silverplate Co. in the mid to later 1800's. The term"quadruple" silverplate means that four times the amount of silver was used to plate this samovar over standard silverplate items. Quadruple silverplate items were some of the highest quality made during the mid to late 19th century. This samovar has 4 pieces. Being the lid, the coffee urn, the resting base, and the wick holder. It is so elegant in design. From the scrolled handle, the ornate finial of the lid, and beaded rim of the urn, to the graceful swan style spout resting on the ribbed design of the base. The samovar stands 13" tall by 9.5" wide. The base is marked"Superior Silverplate Co. Quadruple 4078. And what looks like YZ5X-10. It bears an"S" initial. Christie's didn't list any maker's marks and I wasn't able to discover any. But there's something resembling a mark on the base of the samovar- please see the third to last photo. Two pieces- the octagonal base with four feet and the lid with finial. Script monogram on one panel. SIZE: Measures about 5 7/8" to the top of the lid finial. Width is about 3 3/8" Weighs about 265.5 grams or about 8.54 TROY ounces. MARKS: Marked on underside of base as shown in photos- full Theodore B. Starr. New York marks. The urn is marked by the maker on the bottom. It is hard to read but I believe the maker is Sheridan. It certainly looks very much like their mark and the Urn itself is very similar to other Sheridan styles. The urn measures approximately 17" tall, 7 1/2" wide at the base, 6 3/4 wide at the widest point of the dispenser, and 10 1/4 wide at the handles. ELEGANT REGENCY PERIOD ENGLISH EARLY 19th CENTURY GEORGIAN COPPER SAMOVAR Another quality item searched for with care by Jims Things Dating from the English Regency period when quality was everything this elegant samovar dates from that late Georgian period and proves the point very well.Im always impressed at how well these English urns have survived the centuries. After cleaning this one in particular looks great and has no faults. The samovar measures 16 inches tall and 12 inches between the side handles which have white ceramic grips on ornate copper mounts. The body and cover are solid heavy copper and it stands on a decorated base that has been surrounded with very fine circular decorative rings. The body of the samovar still has its removeable built in tube to the centre of the interior which would have originally held a heated metal ... moreslug. But this has long gone now: The side handles and the centre piece of the brass lever for the tap are ceramic and the tap works perfectly by pulling the double lever into the down position to flow and upright to stop. It has Garanti Semavefleri medallions stamped, it has beautiful patina and what I'm told is ox blood patina also showing supposedly making it a more desirable piece. Please note that I am not familiar with nor do I know anything about this item other than what I was told when I purchased it. I do not know if it would be a functioning piece but I'm sure it would be once the spigot is loosened, it feels stuck in place and I do not know if I should put any force on it to see if it will move so I will let the new owner do that, I am not going to attempt to clean it and possibly harm the value, I will leave that up to the buyer also.
