At the beginning. It was sold in two"Sanka Coffee Houses" in New York, but soon it also came into retail. With its bright orange label, the package was easily identifiable, and due to intensive advertising campaigns and the General Foods Corporation taking over its distribution in 1928, Sanka became a nationwide sales success in the late 1920s. Postum Cereal began selling its first coffee product, Sanka" by obtaining U.S. marketing rights from Dr. Ludwig Roselius of Bremen, Germany. Roselius had developed the decaffeinated coffee in 1906 and began selling it in the U.S. in 1923. Postum later ... morebecame part of General foods and still later, Kraft in 1990. An odd fact about Sanka is that the bright orange label that made it easily identifiable to consumers found its way into coffee shops around the country in the form of the decaf coffee pot. This coffee maker is in good used condition. The burners don't have any marks on them. The pot could use a CLR'ing or similar as it has some build up around the bottom rim. It does work but needs a $4 part- a spreader/spray plate found at ereplacementparts part# A6-72727. The panel behind the bottom burner is missing.It measures 19.5 inches tall. 8 inches wide and 18 inches deep. It does have marks and sign of wear.
