Antique Kidde Copper Brass 2 1/2 Gallon Fire Extingusher Bloomfield New Jersey
For sale is one antique empty Kidde copper brass fire extinguisher manufactured in Bloomfield. New Jersey. The brass does not have the same luster as it used to, but that should be expected considering its age. To the left of the brass instruction plate there is some discoloration and verdigris, but other than that, and some paint loss on the cap, there is little else out of order with it. I would also point out the absence of any noticeable dents in the brass. It measures 24 inches tall and 7 1/2 inches in diameter along the bass and weighs about 18 pounds. I have found that eBay's shipping quotes are not always accurate on heavier items(they are usually very high) I contact UPS and USPS to see which is cheaper for my buyer once I have a zip code. If you would like to do the same. I am estimating the package to weigh 34 lbs once packed and will be shipping from zip code 65722. All 3 warmers work and this machine brews quickly. It does have normal wear and usage damage but is really in great shape. There are no carafes included but the filter basket comes with it and is in good condition. The ready light indicator hasn't worked for a while but it doesn't keep it from brewing. It can be purchased online for around $9 if you need it. I do not play. an original american made folk art violin. ... moreand a nice old german made bow. the body measures. 14 inches. overall length is 24 inches while this old violin is in wonderful condition. i have made no attempt to tighten the strings of hair on the bow. i have not cleaned or polished the instrument in any fashion. my goal is to never do any harm. 80 some years old. as nice as any you would want to find. and just kind of an antique american feeling to it. if you play or not. symphonic or country. or john mellencamp. lol it might be the only one in the world. i have no case. but will box it well. there is no reserve on my estate fiddle tonight. 1864 Handwritten Diary Almanac Civil War Bloomfield Missouri Battle Col Jeffers
This was such an interesting diary to research. Now I don’t know if I’m right about everything but things really seem to be pointing in the following directions. First off this is a civil war era almanac that acts also as a diary. It’s for the year 1864. There is a name on the front and I can’t quite make out his last name but it could be Louis Napoleon. I’ve scanned a close-up of the name itself. Most of the entries have to do with the weather and also the deaths that occurred that year of the folks in the area. However. There are some very interesting entries about the civil war. One in particular really caught my attention. Even tho our author doesn’t write the town he is from there are several clues. The first being the mention of St. Louis so I knew it was Missouri and I did find a Louis Napoleon that lived in St Louis on the 1880 census. ... moreSecondly he talks about going to the“Cape” so I was thinking of Cape Girardeau area. Then there was this entry. September 21. 22, 23, Great excitement about Southerners coming in. September 24 th. Jeffers men come in about sundown. Had a little fight with some of Lackey’s_ of Militia. 1 st Lieut. Southerner and one Federal private wounded. Federal brought to my house. Died Sunday about ½ 11 o’clock. Southerners left town about 1 or 2 o’clock. Camped it was said in the neighborhood. Left Sunday. Heard of at Mullertown” I’m not sure of that last name of the town. Now when I went to look up Jeffers in Missouri in 1864 here’s what I found out and I quote… William L. Jeffers” After several relatively quiet months. Jeffers attacked Bloomfield for a second time on September 22. 1864. This was during Gen. Sterling Price's celebrated"Raid" through Missouri. With a mere 200 men available to defend the town. The Union commander started for Cape Girardeau with wagons filled with supplies. Jeffers attacked the fleeing Unionists near the Caster River. East of Bloomfield. The Union troops offered only feeble resistance. But enjoyed good fortune when their wagons
