This sale is for a off-highway 7000 + gallon water truck. The truck was bought used and then remanufactured from the ground up in 1989. At that time it was also built into a water truck. This water truck has very low hours/miles on it since it was built. Two of the photos show this truck working on a earth fill dam. The truck: LM Mack with many modern components including: Engine- 8V92T Detroit with Jake brake. Transmissions- main, Fuller 13 speed double countershaft. aux. trans. Spicer/ Dana 4 speed. Steering- Ross with integral power steering. Cab- Mounted inline. The original was off-set. Rear axles Mack 80 thousand pound double reduction. Front axle- Later model Rockwell 20 thousand pound. Date would be late 1800's It is in fair condition- there scratches on the upper right- it is light. It is matted on card stock. The size of the photo is 2 7/8 by 3 7/8 inches. This photo is an original. Not a present day digital reprint. There is NO RESERVE. This photo was found in Keller’s Drug Store of Skagway. Alaska among a Case and Draper collection that is dated from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. The building that Keller used for the Drug Store was originally the Case and Draper Photo Studio. AMAZING. SIGNED HANDWRITTEN MANUSCRIPT DIARY OF H. N. ALDRICH, TIOGA COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, 1869. Rare handwritten journal is from the estate and family of Jason Stevens. Civil War soldier, 53rd Regiment, PA Infantry. This particular diary was kept by his relative H. N. Aldrich of Tioga County, PA, and is a daily detailed journal for the entire year of 1869. To include: Jan. 26, went to East Abbey to a law suit between T. Metcalf and J. P. Leonard for trespassing. Feb. 28, our baby is sick, I helped take care of him. Sent John to town for Dr. Marston at 4am- baby worse- at 6 o'clock sent for Mcnary- baby died at 10 o'clock; March 3, went down to the Valley to take Angie[baby's mom? home; Sunday May 30, went up to the burying ground and decorated soldiers graves" Aug. 8, eclipse of sun, etc. Mr. Aldrich was a logger and lumber ... moreworker, cattle, pig, sheep and produce farmer who worked and did manual physical labor every day in this daily journal. This is what it took in those days to feed your family and keep body and soul together. Only once in this diary does he write that"gave wife $10.00. H. N. Aldrich has daily handwritten entries depicting his life as a logger. Farmer, sheep herder, carpenter, etc. He attended numerous meetings for the"supervisors" went to the county fair with his produce, worked at building a stock pen and hog house, built fences, and walls, worked for days on the road[which turned into a court case that he attended] and usually recorded the weather, as that was vital to the life produce of the farmer. His daily writings included hauling[drawed] logs to the saw mill, bringing home slabs and shingles, selling both, selling farming machinery, made out his bill for road tax, washed, sheared and butchered sheep, cultivated corn and potatoes and peas, etc. Paid the blacksmith for horse work;shoeing, went to Wellsborough[Wellsboro] and to Addison as well. NORTHERN MINNESOTA has become a great tourist area since the end of the second world war. It's vast areas of wooded land and many thousands of lakes has made it a prime summer vacation. Hunting and fishing area. It is rewarding to all who come to it because it is a true wilderness area, rich in beauty and in legend. From the early days of the voyageurs with their fur trade to the discovery of iron ore and the utilization of its once vast timber resources. Minnesota has played an important part in the growth and development of our nation. When one comes to this part of the country he is soon aware of the presence of the legends of the past glories ... moreof the state. As he rides along the magnificent North Shore and ventures into the narrow roads into the woods. He becomes more and more aware of the past. Many stories of the good old days of logging and the railroads of the early days soon reach his ears and the spell of the northwoods is upon him. Tales of an old railroad engine that still sits intact in the woods are told. No one seems to know where this engine is and no one seems to have seen it personally. Hut many seem to know of someone else who has seen this mysterious engine and so, of course, it must be so. More directly. Many people have come across old buildings, mile posts and ties still visible in the woods. Close observation will soon produce cinders from the mighty old logging engines and great stumps that is all that remains of the timber that made all of this come to pass. Having grown up in Minnesota and living with the legends of Paul Bunyan and his mighty crew gave me a curiosity about these old railroads and the logging camps. Where did they go? Retro nut bowl made from a rustic log. Beautiful bark on sides of dish. Comes with 5 nut picks and a cracker. Picks and cracker fit into holes drilled into center of bowl.
