A beautiful and unique vintage telephone test set with solid oak case. Brass bells. This oak telephone lineman's test set is in great condition. It was purchased over 30 years ago and was on display in our studio until recently. The front contains a lovely brass-ringed Kellogg transmitter and two brass bells while the left side has a single-piece receiver held in place with a brass wishbone-shaped holder. The transmitter is stamped"KELLOGG 704744-L" The receiver is stamped"FEDERAL Telephone& Telegraph Co. Buffalo NY. Type 53-W. The unit also has a side mounted lever(turns smoothly and easily) for powering the internal generator. The original leather straps and clasps are complete. On the left side of the unit is a single. Nickel plated earpiece or receiver that attaches to the unit with a polished brass wishbone-shaped holder.
