Which is a skin button, is indented and looks like might be non functional. I included a charged battery that is not the best in the world, but was charged and is holding over 8VDC, for your testing. There were some in the large lot of equipment that came in that had repair tags on them, but I threw them away and kept this one, which had no repair tags on it and looked a little better and might function just fine. This lensometer does not load up past the screen in the picture. Being sold for parts or could be an easy repair for someone. It was working well before it started giving intermittent problems(would restart after 30 minutes of operation) The problem got worse until it no longer starts up. I have brought it to a local electronics repair guy that said the problem may be related to the hard drive inside the unit. But does not have experience with optical instruments so was unable to try and repair. Due to shipping costs I do not want to ship it to Marco for repair. The item is being sold as is. The lens has no haze or fungus in the elements. This lens either has markings on the internal mirror for a purpose or they are flaws in the silvering. I an not sure exactly what this is used for but I found a similar looking lens in the Catalogue of Spencer Products Page 119(See link below) that was called an Analyser B. It is not exact but is similar to this. This lens appears to have a clear element on the front and rear of it and a mirror assembly inside it. I am able to see clearly through it.
