For All Of The Baker's Out There That Make Those Wonderful Pies! We Offer For Auction, a Mid-Century Royal Worcester Porcelain 2 Piece Pie Bird In The Original Box. Pie Bird's are a kitchen item that our mother's and grandmother's used to help make a perfect pie! They have become very collectible and hard to find in good condition. The one offered here was designed by Paul Gertner in 1950 for Royal Worcester of England. It is made of porcelain and is still in its original box! It appears like it has never been used. To use. You simply put the white funnel in the center of your bottom crust, put your filling in and put the top crust on. Make an"X" over the funnel and bake pie according to recipe. This lovely vintage Sylvac pig is in matt black with some very small white spots showing through on one side and under his feet. He has the mould number 1132 impressed on his tummy, there is no makers mark. He is not a money box as some pigs with this mould number are. He is 6 cm tall and 11 cm long and has no chips or cracks.
