Vtg Rare Black Porcelain Ceramic Bathroom Light Fixture Wall Mount Pull Chain
Up for auction is a vintage porcelain/ceramic bathroom light fixture. Ceiling or wall mount. I got this from an estate. It was part of a complete bath set. But some of the other pieces were broken. Before they remodeled the house, it had Robin's egg blue tile with the black fixtures. How retro is that color combination? It is oval shaped. Black with a black porcelain chain pull and white porcelain/ceramic screw ring that holds the socket in. Single socket with a pull chain. Has a 2-prong plug receptacle, but has no wiring to it. It's in very good used condition. No cracks or breaks. There are 2 or 3 tiny spots that look like flaws from manufacture. They are so small and hard to see that I cannot say for certain that they aren't chips. I just can't tell for sure. One chip on the inside of the base rim(that goes against the ... morewall) it won't be seen when mounted. The chain pulls on/off easily. The socket unscrews from the fixture easily. Some people call it crackle glass or slag glass so please look at the photos as it is a relief raised green glass with no pattern. I do not know if the light works but it should be rewired as it has no ground wire attached. It has not been cleaned or taken apart. This is an early 1800s hand carved figural candle holder- chandelier. Pre-electric, these were hung from the ceiling as you see her, and then candles in holders that had hooks& chain would be hung from ... moreit- more for an area where more light was needed, or just a few for lower light. Then those removable candlestands were lifted off and taken as a'go to bed' light at evening's end. Now they are often wired and fitted with electric lights and are coveted for Aspen, Ski Lodge and French Country homes and decor all over the world, as well as cabins and, well, my kitchen if I ever get around to it. Fabulous, isn't she! These come in both male and female figural carvings, but I've seen many more with men than women so loved this one in particular. She has glass eyes and folds her hands across her abdomen, resting them just above a carved crest upon which one might have carved a name or date. Often these were used in'pubs' for lack of a better word, or beer halls, so the plaque might be painted with the name of the establishment. Up for auction a vintage ceiling light fixture glass shade. This auction is for the shade only. Probably for a retractable"UFO" style fixture or similar ceiling mount fixture. Most of it is milk glass white with a black scroll design. It's in excellent used condition. No chips. Cracks or breaks. A couple of minor scratches. Some very tiny rough spots on the edge, not sure if they are chips, hardly noticeable. Two spots on the inside look like they might wash off. I have not tried cleaning it, will leave that to the experts. It is 14 1/2" diameter. About 2 5/8" deep, hole in center is 7/16" diameter. This is a nice shade that would look great in a retro. Approximate height of the fixture is 11" and the approximate length is 7" The fixture weighs a little over 6 pounds by itself. There is approximately 11 1/2 foot of wire& chain for hanging. German Black Forest Antique Wood Carved Light Fixture Figurines (NEEDS WORK)
This auction is for a hanging light fixture that has been in my family for many-many years. My Dad served as a Major under General Patton in World War 2 and in the Battle of the Bulge. My mother is German and met my dad during the war. They stayed in Germany until 1948 and then moved to Dayton. Ohio. This light fixture came over with them from Germany. Please look at these pictures closely. This is a project for someone handy and crafty. My wife in the late 1980's was going to white wash this piece. That is why there is a base coat of some sort of flat paint. The dancing couple have metal rods on bottoms of their feet. That is how they fit into the round wooden wreath. The ends of the wreath have the metal screw rods to run wires through and to screw on bulb shade enclosures. I recall as a child that the bulb shade enslosures were wooden ... morebells. They broke and were thrown away. My wife thought it would be nice to get a clear bulb enclosure or a brass one. Anyway. You can see how the 2 lights would mount to the wooden wreath. Needless to say. My wife never got around to finishing this project. At this time of my life, I would like to see the project go to a good home where some talented person could refurbish this light fixure into something nice. Here are some dimensions: The wooden wreath not including the light stub outs is approximately 16" in diameter. The wooden wreath including the light stub outs is approximately 20.25"in diameter. The dancing couple figurines measure approximately 8.5" wide x 9.5" tall As I recall from many-many years ago. A couple small pieces of wood may have broken off and reglued from the dancing couple. It looks that way on mans brim of hat. His right foot, and her left foot. It all seems very stable to me. Note: the last picture shows part of the collection the dancing couple came from. I have about 15 pieces like that. They are not for sale. I am only showing that picture as an example and as proof that I really do personally own a lot of vintage German items

I picked this up here in our Great smoky mountains. Decided I didn't like it on my porch. It has a really neat seeded glass globe. Its in great shape, just has a couple little rust spots on the cage that holds the glass, you can see it in the pics. I lost the mounting bracket somewhere, but luckily kept the small nuts with it. You can pick up a mounting bracket at just about any hardware store for a few dollars. This measures about 8 inches high and wide and about 9 inches deep.

About ten years ago England and France and several other countries began tearing away old architectural elements from small homes cottages. Castles and chateaus in small towns and in the countryside in order to make way for more new modern and less drafty conveniences. As a result, lots of their architecture was shipped abroad to the U.S. to resellers and antique dealers by the container load. This Antique French Country rustic wall sconce made of wood and wrought iron with faux candles holder covers is part of this ... moreliquidation in history. This is a great primitive sconce, which would give that typical French country cottage feel to your home and fabulous decor for indoors or outdoors as well. I purchased this pair directly from a French seller out of Normandy. France who strictly sold only vintage and antique chandeliers, wall sconces and lighting taken from all over the French countryside, so I personally know these to be genuine. These primitive sconces are from the early 1900’s and taken from an old cottage style farmhouse. They are in excellent condition as measure approximately 7” inches tall by 5” inches wide on the wood backing plaques. They were previously wired according to French standards, but I have replaced them with more modern safe American standard candle bulb parts& wires. I do not know what kind of wood the back plates are made of and they may have possibly been added at a later date when the wiring was installed on the iron pieces. Not for sure on this and just my personal thoughts. They are in excellent antique condition showing some light to medium rust patina from having been kept in storage in a barn. The shade has a 4" fitter, and the metal fixture where it meets the ceiling is 5-1/4" wide. The glass is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. Beautiful!
