The average weight of roosters is 11 pounds where the hen’s average weight is 8.5 pounds. They lay an average of 140 tinted eggs annually. Brahmas are calm. Friendly birds that make good pets. They are a popular choice for families with children. They have been very easy to raise and make a rather quiet and beautiful flock. The distinct difference between the well know Light and Dark Brahmas and these are their beautiful feather plumage. Our flock consists of Buff Laced. Gold Laced and Blue Laced Gold Brahmas. The reason for our decision to cross the different color varieties did not come easily. The Buff Laced Brahma would have to be our favorite color and the one that Dan Powell was aiming for when he started this project, but after careful research, we discovered that in this stage of the project, breeding only Buff Laced Brahmas would result in 80% Buff Laced Brahmas and 20% Gold Laced Brahmas. It also results over time in"whiting out" of the Buff Laced Brahmas. In order to bring you beautiful birds with truer lacing, we have decided to continue using the other color varieties. Vintage Early Electric Galvanized Steel Poultry Farm Chicken Egg Candler Light
This auction is for an early electric egg candler from a poultry farm. It has galvanized steel construction and a porcelain socket and it is in good sued condition. It is still in working order and it appears to have the original cord in good shape. It measures about 10" long and about 4 1/2" in diameter. No dates are found on unit or paperwork but this would appear to be from the 1950's or 1960's. Outer case is steel. Finished in a bright red crinkle finish, case has no dents, dings, or rust.just a tiny bit of paint chipping at the point where cover latches closed. Glass viewing window on front cover is clear, with no cracks, scratches, or chips. Interior is extremely clean. Mechanism seems to work. Welsh Harlequin Ducks, Coop, Feeder, and Watering Can
This beautiful ducks are one of the calmest breeds. They originated in Wales and were brought to America with in the last century. The Welsh harlequin ducks are a hearty breed. The snow and ice that we had earlier this year did not seem to phase them. They're excellent foragers. Eating bugs, grass, seeds, some leaves, and ticks. They are also good for meat and great egg producers! I have 6 ducks for sale. Four females and two males. Out of the four females, we have been getting three to four eggs a day except for occasionally when the temperatures were down in the low teens. Lately a couple of our hands have been sitting on their eggs trying to hatch baby ducklings. I moved and could only take a few with me so I have 6 left. One flap is stamped 1920 I don't know what this number signifies or if it could possibly be the year of making. Box has some wear and staining. One flap is missing. Bands are in great condition I don't think they were ever used. Some are bend slightly from being in box. But they bend easily back to flat. Real neat vintage farm collectible!
