The water stays clean, the nipples do not drip and they give fresh water everytime the chickens peck at them. It was fun to build. We have used these type of watering nipples for years and have helped design many systems. Unlike others, if you have questions or problems during installation we are here to help. This listing is for 1 360 degree nipple. The orange part you see under the PVC pipe. These are threaded and I used just a dab of silicone on the threads to make them water tight. You will need to drill an 11/32" hole( we offer this hard to find size drill bit in our store for $3.00. Please check our other listings) and thread the nipples in. These also will work with a 5 gallon bucket. Drill holes in the bottom of the bucket. Insert your nipple, add water and your lid, then hang it where the chickens can get it. You will have fun building and designing your system. We did. I use one system outside in the summer and a seperate system inside in the winter. Just so nothing freezes. I was amazed at how quickly the chickens took to the nipples. A couple taps on one and their natural curiosity took over. Once they had fresh clean water hit their beaks. There was no turning back! Auction is for a pair GREEN DEPRESSION GLASS DISHES They are from the 1920's& were made by the Oakes Mfg.Co in TIPTON. INDIANA Each would be the bottom piece of an antique poultry waterer. Highly collectible! There is a chip on the edge of one dish- the other is in great vintage condition! They measure 5-3/8" in diameter and are approximately 1-1/8" tall. Vintage Glass Chicken Waterer 1872 Patent Self Dispensing Water Supply Has Chip
This is a vintage chicken waterer. Popular on farms many years ago for providing drinking water for the chicken flock. It is made of glass, has a projection in the center with a groove down it. It is used with a quart Mason jar, and to use, you fill the Mason jar with water, place the waterer upside down into the jar opening, so the projection goes into it, then holding the waterer against the mason jar, you upend the jar, so the waterer is on the bottom. Water will then feed into the circular trough as needed. A simple but effective device, with the marks PATENTED and NO 126997. It was actually patented May 21 1872, and there is information on these on the internet. In the course of use these usually got chips, especially at the bottom. This one does have a small chip along the lower rim. The last three photos show the chip in the center ... moreof the photos. You can barely feel it, just a little chip, but it reduces the value somewhat. When you look at other waterers like this being sold on ebay, you will see that most of them have chips, and larger chips than this. Makes an interesting farm collectible, or, can be used to water your chickens, or could be used for hummingbirds or other wildlife. Mason jars are available. This auction is for the waterer only, not the Mason jar. The waterer is 5 3/8" across, about 2 1/4" height, and uses a mason jar with a 2 3/16" opening. Mails priority at 3 lbs ship wt. Up for sale is this quart waterer for baby chicks/poultry. It is the actual item shown in the picture. It has a white poly mason type jar top and a red poly base. It holds 1 quart of water. The jar screws into the base and a small hole lets the water out of the jar and maintains the proper level in the base. This is GREAT for young chicks- constructed so they can't get in the base and drown themselves. While maintaining a wate supply for them. No cracks or chips, it is a big waterer, stands about 10" tall, base measures 8-3/4" These jars are being sold for butter churns, I asked my Amish friends about it and was told they will fit some churns. the top opening of the jar on the outside of the thread measures 5-1/8" and the jar stands 8-3/4" high.

Vintage Metal Chicken Waterer with Glass Float ??????? Nice blue color.
I've been told this is a metal chicken waterer. I do not know if this is correct but it seems like that's what it could be. It is all metal with a glass float. It looks like its in working order but I can't test it. The float does go up and down nicely. There is a little grey paint on one side but it is originally this nice blue color. The only rust is a little near the flow tubes and a few other spots have surface rust. The water area is stained but can probably be cleaned.

The"Guaranteed" patent pending Automatic Water Fountain made by White Manufacturing Company. Gardena, California, 1927, in original box(box is damaged) with instructions. With The Guaranteed Automatic Water Fountain your troubles are over. It will supply your chickens with fresh, clean water at all times. Any kind of pan or crock may be used with this fountain with best of results. It is operated by gravity pressure and the pressure on the water system should govern the size of the trough. It is frost proof to the extent that it cannot be damaged by freezing. The water fountain has already been attached to a 1/2" threaded pipe. You won't see too many of these.
