At the time. This oscilloscope was purchased from a knowledgeable seller, unit#3 of 5 units they had available. I had originally intended to learn repair work but that opportunity never materialized. Therefore this scope was never used by me. I selected this particular model after much research and recommendations from industry techs with a history of repairing recent equipment and vintage components. The Tektronix 465B Oscilloscope was considered the industry standard in 100MHz portable oscilloscopes for many years and still remains very desirable today. The unit has a white sticker on top that says"calibrated" ... moreso it's been bench tested for accuracy at some point. I am not familiar with how this unit functions. Therefore the unit must be sold as is, however the unit powers on fine and appears to work as it should. Extra time was taken to research and purchase the correct genuine Tektronix test probes and instruction manual that are best compatiable with the Tektronix 465B. This is an LG Precision OS-5020G dual-trace oscilloscope with built-in 1 MHz function generator. This same model has been branded"Goldstar" Or"Lucky Goldstar" and sometimes appears as a model number 9020G. The same model is still being built and sold by E-Z Digital, which apparently purchased the oscilloscope division from Lucky Goldstar. I purchased this unit around 1997, and it is still in excellent cosmetic and working condition. All the controls and switches operate smoothly with no noise. The unit is well within its calibration specs. The CRT display is 8x10 cm, with an internal, non-illuminated graticule. Vertical sensitivity is 5 volts per division to 5 millivolts per division with a bandwidth of 20 MHz. Pulling the variable knob out engages a 5 times magnifier. Giving a 1 millivolt per division maximum sensitivity, ... morebut with a bandwidth of 7 MHz. The"dual" mode automatically switches between chopped and alternate sweep depending on the sweep speed, giving the best appearing display at all sweep speeds. There is an"add" mode which displays a single trace consisting of the sum of both channels. There is a channel 2 invert switch which, when used with"add" mode, displays the difference between the two channels, also known as"differential mode" Horizontal sweep ranges from 200 nanoseconds per division to 0.2 seconds per division. A 10X magnifier increases the maximum speed to 20 nanoseconds per division. There are TV-V(ertical) and TV-H(orizontal) trigger modes to facilitate display of video signals(of limited use now with the obsoleting of NTSC tv signals) There is an external trigger input on the back panel. Nice BK Precision 1474, 30MHz, triggered sweep, dual trace oscilloscope
Ultra nice BK Precision 1474. 30 MHz, Triggered Sweep, Dual-Trace Oscilloscope With Built-In Signal Delay Line. Have owned and used this scope for quite sometime. Had zero problems with the unit. All the functions seem to work well. Have used it as a HAM station monitor to monitor the SSB transmitted signal with an easy to build signal adapter. This scope looks in exceptional condition and works as well as some of the ultra high dollar equipment we used in the USAF. Will include an original Dynascan PR36 Direct/Low capacity probe in excellent condition. Can change from 10:1 to 1:1 probe very easily. Also a Schlumberger PKW-105, X1, Ref, X10 probe in good condition. Will also include a Tektronix 1:1 plain probe. Has very nice photo copied instruction manual. Power cord wraps around four corner posts on the back, so you can set the scope down ... moreusing the handle, like a suitcase. Sending along a small wire adapter that you plug into the Cal 1 KHz, 0.5V P-P square wave generator. Then you can just clip your scope probes to the wire when you want to use the CAL signal. It warmed up quickly. And everything seems to work just fine. The controls were a bit"jerky" at first. But the more I used them, the better they acted. I think the unit just needs a good thorough cleaning. As well as a calibration, and I simply have no idea what I'm doing. No probes are included. Just the unit itself as you see it in the photos. It's HUGE and HEAVY so it MUST SHIP FedEx GROUND or use an LTL Carrier due to its weight and size. We are located commercially. And have a dock and forklift. FedEx"Home Delivery" will not deliver it. It's got some dings. Scratches, etc. but nothing major. All minor. It should turn out to be a good unit. If I knew more about it; I would offer a guarantee.
