Here is a real work horse POWER SUPPLY from HP. The supply has a conservative power rating of 0-20 volts and 0-1.5 amps. 30 watts. I checked this unit out up to 20 volts and 2.0 amps or 40 watts, no problem. With no load, I set the voltage to 20.00 volts, added a 12 ohm load, the current was 1.8 amps and the output voltage only dropped to 19.96 volts.
