Lambda C-281 tube power supply for tube amp
For sale is a Lambda C-281 high voltage tube power supply. This supply provides from 125vdc to 325vdc as well as 6.5vac at 10A. The DC output is adjustable by means of a potentiometer on the back. The tube complement is as follows: 2 x 5U4G. 6 x 6W6GT, 2 x 12AX7 and 1 x 5651. This supply powers up and functions but has a peculiar fault. It seems to provide too much DC voltage. For example, on the 125vdc-175vdc setting I measured ~350vdc and on the 175vdc-225vdc setting I measured ~400vdc. I am not sure why this is the case. I believe it to be a circuit level fault as I replaced all of the tubes with no change. I am looking to make some space and so I do not have time to diagnose this further. Unit functions perfectly and was recently calibrated internally to verified voltage and current using a Fluke Multimeter. Last time it was NIST calibrated was in 99- but these power supplies are 100% reliable constant duty always on supplies. No fans to go bad but instead massive aluminum heat fins in the back. This is not your modern high frequency switching power supply. It a solid old skool power supply originally designed for audio and especially electron tube(vacuum tube) circuit design testing. High Voltage X-ray Tube Power Supply EHT Transformer 75,000V 75KV at up to 8mA
This is the high voltage power transformer that was used with the X-ray tube I sold a week ago. It is made like an old school flyback transformer freakishly overgrown. This transformer takes a 25KHz square wave at up to 350V peak and turns it into about 75.000V at 8ma maximum output. Note that this transformer ABSOLUTELY MUST be run submerged in oil for this high of voltage, but it could easily do 20KV or so in air if desired for running something like a small Co2 laser. You can use the guts of an older computer or other small regulated switching power supply, and an extra mosfet transistor and capacitors to run it by co-opting the primary mosfet drive signal through the primary winding in parallel with the power supply's transformer. This makes it easy to adjust the voltage too, for more current just add a variable load resistor to the ... morelow voltage power supply. Up for your consideration is a Lambda model 50 regulated vacuum tube DC power supply. This power supply is in exceptional condition considering its age and it works perfect. It has all of its original tubes. All the tubes have been tested with my TV-7 tester and all tubes are in better than good condition, some like the 6L6's and 5R4's test like new. Titan VARIABLE Tube Amp Bench Power Supply 500V 200mA
Modified for bench use on tube circuits. This is the Titan Variac based power supply. I have modified it for use on my bench to power tube amps experiments and real life amps. It is rated for 500V at 200mA. I used this as an additional supplement to my Heathkit IP-17 when I needed more current. More voltage or multiple voltages. So this unit should also work fine grounded via the NEG jack to the ground side of an additional supply. At least, it worked with my IP-17 AND my 30-0-30 variable bench supply. This power supply is unregulated. So after load comes up. Some fine adjustment is needed. It has a built in voltmeter(reads high) and a current meter with 200mA. 40mA and 20mA readings selected by push switches on the panel. Of course. You already have a meter to verify operating voltages and currents. Originally this unit had a timer for a ... morepower switch. I removed the timer. Replacing it with a toggle. The toggle has a cover that must be flipped up to engage the supply. And can be quickly shut down. It cannot be accidentally bumped on. The basic circuit is supplied as a picture. What you have is a Variac controlled transformer primary. Solid state rectification, and then a CLC filter. The"L" is a Hammond 2.5H 300mA suitable for all basic circuit testing. Sometimes I'd add a little 10H in an LC circuit to the output of this device for testing more sensitive electronics. It should be noted that the supply will generate MORE than 600V fully turned up. Internal caps are good to 600V. But meter on front panel only to 500V. I was going to put a bypass switch here. But never needed it. This unit is pretty heavy and will be carefully packed. Vintage Eico 1030 Regulated Vaccum Tube Power Supply This item has been in storage for some time. I was bringing it up slowly but(POP- SMOKE) and a little cap oil leaking on my bench. The previous owner stated it was working when taken out of service so it might just need re-capped and possibly a few other minor repairs and/or teaks. AC cord has been spliced as well.
