Tektronixs TDS644A 500Mhz 4 Channel Digital Oscilloscope with color display
This is a Tektronix TDS-644A 500Mhz 4 channel oscilloscope with color display. It has a sample rate of 2Gs per second. The color display is really nice in that it allows you to easily see your settings and readouts for each channel. You can even set the readouts to all kinds of colors. Don’t know why you would need that but you can do it. I got this from a friend who bought it off e-bay a few years ago and it didn’t work when he got it. I did some research and found that many Tektronix scopes suffer from surface mount electrolytic capacitors leaking on their analog board and causing the ACQ failure on the power up tests. I replaced ALL of the electrolytic capacitors on the analog board and then cleaned up all residual leaked electrolyte. I gave the board a good soak and scrub in alcohol. Then a rinse and scrub under the faucet, and then let ... morethe board dry in the sun. After installing the board and running the scope’s internal calibration routines it works well! The scope has far too many features to list. You can have data readouts(voltages. Periods, pulse width, frequency, overshoots, etc) that can be assigned to just one channel or any of the other channels. Makes taking measurements so much nicer. The cursor functions allow for time or voltage(and even both at the same time) differentials to be easily measured(no need to count grids and do math in your head) It even has FFT functions but I have never played around with those. You can even save setup configurations as well as record waveforms on the scope or save/copy them to the floppy. This is clearly the best scope I have ever gotten my hands on. In fact. Its actually overkill for my needs. I have another(lesser) Tektronix scope that works well for me. I have had this guy for a couple years and had a hard time deciding to sell it. But, there is another very expensive piece of equipment that I want for developing a gizmo I want to produce so I gotta raise bucks to buy it. I made a CD Rom recovery disk.Installed OS, cleaned out the dust and re-calibrate the instrument as the batteries had failed erasing everything. The only flaw is I had to mount the laptop drive with cable ties! The drive weighs only 6 ounces so it is very secure but I do suggest once you receive the scope you remove the cover first to verify it hasn't moved before plugging it in. Update I just purchased a HP 1160A probe 500 MHZ probe Sunday October 5th I added three new pictures. One is the self-test. The warning about the actuators is actually an error due to battery failure(see above) The actuator count can be reset. The next picture the calibration screen showing everything OK and the final test shows the sine wave response to a 100MHZ input. Everything is normal.

HP 54100A 1 Gigahertz Digital Oscilloscope If you are looking for a great high speed bench oscilloscope. Consider the HP54100A. It has two channels of up to 1Ghz bandwidth. A separate trigger channel, and an amazing range of automated functions that compute math functions on the waveforms. See the photos to get an idea of how comprehensive and accurate these measurements are. One of the most useful functions is the“Auto” key. Which lets you just hook up the probe, press“Auto” and the scope by itself figures out all the required settings to display two cycles of the waveform, like magic. Be careful looking at these scope. To make sure that a full complement of“pods” are included. These are required for each channel and the trigger channel. And have a BNC connector for attaching a standard scope probe. They fit in slots in the lower right side ... moreof the front panel. A gaping hole is a bad sign– but pods have been readily available on eBay. Of course this unit has all the pods(three for the 54100A– two channels and trigger) Pods come in at least two types. A 1Ghz 50 ohm pod and a 700Mhz 1Mohm pod. This unit includes 2 at 1Ghz and one at 700Mhz. They may be swapped between slots as desired. The condition is good. As you can see in the photos. The display is bright and sharply focused. The unit appears very well calibrated in both the time base and the vertical amplifiers, and with the very sophisticated triggering and display options, this scope should be able to do about whatever you’d like. This 2 GSa/s. 500 MHz, 4 channel scope is in great condition and comes with one probe. I have replaced the Lithium battery and the CRT. I have calibrated the unit. It passes all self tests. I have completely tested the four front end attenuator preamps and they are all working to specs. You get great full bandwidth on 4 channels 2 GSa/s simultaneously on a single trigger. Hardcopy is possible using the floppy drive. Just save to the floppy and then use your PC to get hard copy. One picture shows the hardcopy file. Tektronix 2430A Digital Storage Oscilloscope, 150 MHZ Dual Channel with GPIB
This is a nice scope; I like it a lot. It has several menus. And functions selectable from those menus. I am an electrician and not an electronics guy. I like this scope because the way it is set up makes it easy for a dummy like me to get a usable waveform on a usable display really quickly. As best as I can tell, everything works. There is a self diagnostic the scope goes through upon start up; it passes that. There are three or four additional menu-selectable diagnostics that you can run. The scope passes all those tests. The accessory pouch is attached. There are two manuals(in great shape) included. The display functions properly. The probes you see in the photos are not included. I will pay the shipping to the lower 48 states. A potential customer reported a problem with my listing wherein it said"free shipping" but also said"calculate" ... moreas if the shipping were not free. Yet another Ebay shipping related glitch.
