The contrast control has to be adjusted every time and it doesn't seem to hold the date/time. It will scan a fiber cable and return a reading. The power meter works, the laser seems to turn on. Nothing is guaranteed. But this has not been dropped and the case is in very nice condition. Might be good to recondition your working Fiberscan. It does not work. I put in two 9v batterties and they needle moved a little bit. But not as it should. Also the orange disc requires a AA battery and has a speaker which you plug into the phone jack.
