DESCRIPTION: Please see our terms and"about ME"page prior to bidding or buying. This neat old frog is of some kind of cast metal. His body is painted dark green with black enamel accents. His mouth is a bright red enamel. And he looks like he is smiling as the mouth curves upwards at the edges. The lily pads are two tone green enamel He measures app. 3.5"x2.5" We think him to be a sprinkler as his mouth is open with the perfect hole for shooting water through. The base is open as shown which could be where it was attached to another part which is no longer there. There is no damage to the metal, but there is enamel wear with age as shown. We looked up tons of cast metal old frogs on the internet to try to place this guy. The head is angled up with a hole in the mouth- the frog is hollow- the base is open- he is lighter ... moreweight. This pretty much eliminates its being a vase. A doorstopper, and a book holder. His mouth was not made to open bottles- so bottle opener is out of the question. The only rust I see is on the grooves of the spout and the can where it screws into the can. It does not leak and appears to hold one gallon just looking at the size. Approximate size: 9 ½” tall. 6 ½” in diameter, spout is 8” to sprinkler head. Unknown age and maker. I see that it is missing one of two rivets on the top of the handle(sheared off inside can—see picture) The brass is so thick you won’t miss the rivet—especially with the additional handle on top. This wonderful early 1900's Rockwood Sprinkler CO. water gauge is wonderfully mirror polished like it would be the day it was made. The gauge came from the old hotel in Conneaut Lake. This I understand was in use at the Conneaut Lake Park hotel for there fire system. The gauge is in wonderful condition with it's original paint on the back. VINTAGE BRASS VIKING AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER CO. WATER PRESSURE GAUGE- JAS.P.MARSH
This is a very old water pressure gauge made by the Jas. P. Marsh Corporation in Skokie. ILL. for the Viking Automatic Sprinkler Company in Chicago. It's made of solid brass I'm assuming since it's non-magnetic. There is some minor wear from use and a couple of scratches on the back but no dents. The face is nice. It has a tapered rubber compression type fitting attached. The gauge works with low air pressure and was accurate. These 4 vintage sprinkler heads are made by different companies. Two of the pieces are Central heads. Measuring 2 3/4" and 2 1/2" high. Both are dated 1995. The third is marked SSU and is dated 2001-it stands 2" high. The fourth is marked SSP2 and is dated 1986-it stands 2 5/8" high. In the past this Rosewater sprinkler has had a small visable repair done to the bowl, as shown in the pictures. The bottom is filled and weighted with a makers mark of a"shining" or"shooting" star with Aribic. Middle Eastern writing. nice cooverall condition. Rosewater is prominently featured in certain cultural ceremonies and traditions. At the end of a wedding banquet. The hands and faces of guests are sprinkled. This particular fire grenade is filled with a salt brine water solution and was designed to hang over head. It has a spring activated pin that is held in place by a heat activated melt away tab. When a fire broke out, the tab would melt and that would release the spring which would puncture the fire grenade, releasing the contents ... moreto help put out the fire. This is not a CM7 or Carbon Tetrachloride grenade. This item will be shipped disassembled as seen in the 6th photo. The housing will be put back together and the glass globe will be shipped out side of it. To put back together just unscrew the two screws and pop the top. Carefully drop in the glass globe and replace the top. The glass globe will be packed in a box within a box and well wrapped with bubble wrap and packing peanuts.
