I'm sure beyond economical repair(or any repair for that matter) we have a Japanese made 1960's/70's entry level twin pickup bass. The body loving hewn from the living Plywood, and then meaningfully split in two. Its got to yield up some useful parts at the very least. The neck seems straight with seemingly little fret wear. Although they are thin little beggars, half the nut is missing, as is one tuner ferule. Electrics, pickups, knobs, switches, bridge and cover, all present, original and functioning, although a bit of switch cleaner probably wouldn't go amiss, in fact the body was in pretty nice clean order before it befell whatever calamity resulted in the body splitting. A man and a woman, both firewood/basket carrying peasants. They have original fabric clothing. The heads, hands and feet appear to be made of resin, possibly celluloid or Bakelite. Each is mounted on a wood base. My friend's aunt obtained these in World Travels before WWII, he does not know where they were made. Images of firewood carrying peasants are common from South America to Europe to Asia to the Indian Subcontinent. I am attaching a few with each listing. This doll is a woman. Decidedly vintage handmade doll made from corn husks. A fine craft tradition gifted hands create wherever corn fields are in view! This charming woman is aging nicely. But she has a few cracks at some folds and on her capped head and some darkening of the husks in places. That's life!
