The parent trees are 15" and 13" in diameter at breast height(DBH) The larger parent tree is approximately 50 feet in height and the smaller is approximately 45 feet in height. It is not known if the parent trees are blight resistant. However, the parent trees show no signs of having the blight or of ever having it. If the parent trees are hybrids they are inadvertent hybrids and exhibit only morphological characteristics of true American chestnuts. The seed can either be eaten or used to grow seedlings.
