Gorman Rupp Diesel 4 Water/ Trash pump
I have a 4" gormin rupp diesel trash/ water pump that is trailer mounted. The engine is a air cooled 50hp deutz diesel. The engine runs awesome and the pump pumps water great. I had this pumping water about 2 weeks ago with no problems. The only thing it needs is it does not have a cam lock fitting on the discharge end and one of the ears is broke on the suction camlock fitting. It needs the line that goes to the oil pressure sending gauge as it has a hole in it. The exhaust pipe exiting the muffler is rusted through. Really Nice'used' fully operational portable. Manually operated Edson Diaphragm Pump. This one comes with the really nice flexible inlet and outlet hoses and all their flange-lock Banjo fittings and some additional ones too. So right out of the box you'll be ready to go! I had this item previously listed and could have sold it several times. But the cost of shipping was very high to the buyers locations because of the original boxed size of the unit. Several'buyers' asked me if it could be modified to make the whole assembly more compact without compromising the performance. The main issues were box size, the solid 32"long drive handle and the 32"x16"x3/4" large size of the Plywood Carry-Board. After working on this'challenge' I have now been able to reduce the shippable size of the unit, with ... morethe modification of these two parts, and still perform just as well as the originals. So this is what I had done to address the shipping issue: The Long 32" solid steel handle 3/4" diameter. Has been cut in half and one male and one female threaded adapter has been welded to the cut ends. This allows the pump handle to be stowed for storage or shipping in half it's original size but still quickly threaded together to work as originally designed. As an advantage each 1/2 of the full Handle can also now be utilized to operate the pump if the long handle was too long to operate in a confined space! The large plywood Carry-board has been cut in half and a very substantial high quality stainless-steel piano hinge with 1/4-20 counter sunk bolts. T' Nuts and counter sunk screws, has now re-joined the two halves allowing the Carry-board to be folded in half. As the hinge has been properly located on the bottom side of the board it will work and support the pump assembly as originally designed but with the added benefit of allowing it to be stowed or shipped in a smaller space.
