The shredder binds because there are some plastic teeth missing that clean the shredding blades. As a result paper shreddings get lodged in the blades and bind the shredder. This"was" a terrific shredder until my kids got the great idea to put a towel in it! This thing is such a work horse that it never gave up when the towel got jammed. It just sheared all the teeth off one of the plastic gear and the towel jammed in so tight busted 1 of the 4 plastic toothed cutter dividers. Although I removed the towel remnants and everything functioned as normal. With the teeth gone off that one gear, it no longer shredded. My kids allowance bought a new unit and to help them recover some of that cost. We are selling these expensive replacement parts at some great affordable pricing!
