Has that coveted blackened/blackening high carbon steel desired by collectors. no pitting.no rust. No sharpening was ever done. No scratches at all to note. Snap is really great. Vintage KA-BAR Swing Guard locking blade knife. Black jigged delrin, sabre blade. Tang reads"KA-BAR USA. Older oval KA-BAR shield, brass liners 4 1/4" long closed, blade 3 3/8"long and 7 5/8" overall. Lock works great, handles no flaws and very Nice knife. I have read that these older KA-BAR swing guard knives have been discontinued.I found out this item is from the 1940-1950 s and very collectable, more so than the brown jigged delrinn in another sell. Vintage KA-BAR Swing guard knife. I think jigged delrin, looks like bone. Has sabre blade with minor scuffs and sharpened litely. Older oval shield, brassliners and Tang reads"Kabar 1173 USA" Handles are perfect without any chips or cracks. Lock is like new, no wobble or anything loose. 4 1/4" long closed, blade 3 3/8" long, overall 7 5/8" long. I have heard these older swing guard knives have been discontinued.
