These Vintage Simplex shift levers are attached to a vintage Simplex attachment band. They can be attached to a brazed on down tube attachments or you can use this Simplex band. It is used. It has some wear. Scuffs and dirt. The fingertip casings are in good condition. They need a good cleaning and polish, but they are great old levers. Great for your light weight restoration. 1970's Mercier. French racing bicycle with Simplex derailleurs. New in box.
A beauty from 1970’s France. This Mercier has been sitting in a warehouse for over 40 years! There are no signs of rust or corrosion. Everything is shiny and new. Even the Hutchison 27 x 1-1/4 tires are supple. It has Simplex front and rear derailleurs and shift levers. The frame is steel. There is a decal near the top of the seat tube that states. Tubes Alleges Special Pro” Special Pro Lightweight Tubes) The frame measures 22” 56cm) center to top. The top tube is approx. 21-3/4” 55cm) center to center. The brake calipers and levers are Mafac. The rims say, DEA Super Chrome Made In France” The cranks are Solida. I have purposely not unwrapped the bike. Leaving it as it came out of the box. I cannot say for sure that there are no marks or damage under the wrapping but everything I can see looks very good. The box shows wear and minor damage ... moreto the cardboard but is all there and solid. The paint looks great. The pinstripes and contrasting colors are painted. Not decals. There is a Tornado Solibloc frame pump with the bike. A brand new vintage bike with a winning racing history. Because of the size of the original Mercier box. Peug eot PX-10 frameset. frame is straight and align. 56cm center to center seattube 56cm ce nter to center toptube 100mm front spacing. 120mm rear spacing Reynolds 531 double butted tubing. Nervex lugs. Simplex dropouts. Stronglight P-3 headset. mid to lat e 1950s. Originally outfitted with Simplex 543 derailleur( I do not have one) The frame finish is g oo d for a 1950s bicycle. With minor nicks and chips, but one thing of note is the paint is thin under the toptube. it is not rus ted. It is just worn from riding? Chrome is excellent on the frame and fork. Headset i s rusty. Some one drilled 2 holes in the downtube. To attach the shifter and cable guide. see photos- a very small dent in the toptube that has been covered with touch up paint(about 1cm) Please keep in mind that this is a 50+ year old bicycle frame. It does has some patina ... moreand history. If I were keeping it, I would not repaint because I like the look and the paint finish is pretty good for this iconic model. I did not clean the bike. This auction is for a Simplex JUY 51 derailleur in very good condition. There is. I believe, one small part missing from the derailleur: a piece that acts like as a stop that goes on the threaded mounting bolt. I might be able to find the piece before the close of the auction, but no guarantees on that one. I originally bought this derailleur for a vintage French bike I have, but it would not mount correctly on the bike; it was the braze-on derailleur mounting on the bike, not a problem with the derailleur. This derailleur is perfect for putting on your vintage whether equipped with Huret, Shimano, Suntour, Magistroni, Simplex, Campagnolo, Stronglight, or Cinelli components. Simplex Criterium CP March 1972 rear derailleur used
This is a used Simplex Criterium derailleur. It is the CP racing style model with the cage pivot at the center of the cage. It is marked 3/72 on the rear of the cage. It is very nice cosmetically. There is an imperfection at the top end of the plastic Simplex logo as well as some scratches and scuffs. Please check the photos. This is an all original Follis Tour de France model racing bicycle that was stored since the 1950s-1960s when it was last raced. The paint is still decent. Plated parts need restoration. I have not tried to clean this bike. And some of the chrome parts would clean up. Has sewup alloy rims with tubular tires(tires are obviously not usable) Components are: Simplex, with Beborex brakes. Rear derailleur is stamped: JUY 51. Crank arms are stamped: Durax. Has Simplex quick release skewers, Normandy hubs, Lyotard pedals, A.V.A. alloy stem, 36 spoke wheels. Seat tube measures 20.5" center to center. Top tube measures 20.5" center to center. Wheelbase measures 39.2" Simplex chainwheels have 47/50 teeth. Bottom of bottom bracket is stamped: 11761. Seat is leather Ideale. Would make interesting wall art depicting an exact 1950s racing ... morebicycle, or could be restored. Features very fancy lugwork on steering tube and joints and has concealed rear brake cable that runs through the top tube. Andou there is fancy hand striped detail work on the lugs. 1970's Fausto Coppi Italian racing bicycle. 23" New in box. Simplex derailleurs.
Brand new in it’s original box is a 23 inch Fausto Coppi racing bike from Italy in the early 1970’s. Coppi. The man, is a cycling legend and is again probably considered one of the greatest racers, if not THE greatest bike racer of all time. This Italian bike has Simplex front and rear derailleurs and the rarer aluminum Simplex shift lever. The brakes are Balilla alloy center pull. The handlebar stem is TTT(Triple T) The alloy rims are Fiamme. The Olmo tires are still supple as the bike has been in it’s box in a warehouse for about 40 years! There is no rust or corrosion however. There are a few marks on the bike from how it was packed. I was able to see some scratching on a decal on the seat tube and there are a couple of tiny tears in the handlebar tape. The brake lever hoods show some damage as they were pressed against the cardboard box. ... moreAs most of the bike is still in it’s original packaging, I cannot say for certain that there isn’t any more, but most everything that is visible is perfect and new. The paint is quite shiny. You can buy it to ride or collect. Either way this is a very special and rare chance to own a piece of cycling history.

Simplex LJ 1000 T rear derailleur used
This is a used Simplex LJ 1000 T model rear derailleur. The parallelogram arms are alloy. The knuckles are Delrin plastic and the pivot bolts and cage are steel. It is in good cosmetic condition with some scratches, scuffs and minor chrome damage. The mechanical condition is very good with tight pivots and strong spring action. The cage pivot is near the top of the cage for additional chain uptake for touring. A nice upgrade from the red label Prestige model derailleur. Remember you not only get a great derailleur. But you also help many others with your purchase. This is New Old Stock derailleur cable housing. I think made by SunTour. They look like SunTour and the end fits the SunTour levers perfectly and is a tiny bit big for Campagnolo and Simplex; they can easily be shaved down to fit those. It is new. Unrusted, not kinked, supple, clean. 75 inches or 190 cm long. In fact. It seems long enough to be used with bar-end shifters. This is perfect for getting your classic vintage derailleur bikes running smoothly.
