lot of 2 Better Pack 333 gummed tape machines/ dispensers OLD! but work great!
These are two tape machines that came out of my dads' plant. Both are Better Pack(those are the best) They are super old and look grungy but. Work great. I tried them out myself. I worked in a plant for 25 years(mostly packing) and am very familiar with this type of machine. As a matter of fact we used Better Pack machines ourselves until management decided to"upgrade" to those electronic ones. After just a little while of using them most of us pushed them aside to use the old ones. They actually work better. The greenish grey one on the left in the first picture is the Better Pack 333. It looks pretty good and cuts the tape very well but, whatever size I set the machine to cut on, it would cut it 5" shorter. I know how to use one, not adjust one. The older one on the right is brownish. The lable is long gone but I took ... morea picture of the serial number and if you look at the machine from the right angle you can tell that it says Better Pack. This one is made of a thicker metal than the other but, has rust around where the tape goes over the brushes. I tried to show that in picture#9. Don't let that picture scare you. It works way better than the other one. It cuts well and, any length I set the machine on, it cut it exactly the right size. There is not a huge difference in these machines. They all work pretty much the same way but, the older one has a cast iron reservoir(surprisinly, not rusted) while, the other one is a heavy plastic. Both have the original Better Pack water bottles. I believe one of the machines brushes have been replaced. The brushes look good except at each end, where the gum from the tape built up(that is normal) These are heavy so, I will probably ship them in seperate boxes. I am going to just guess at the cost of shipping. If it turns out I have charged you too much I will refund any overage. Of course, if you live any where around this area, you may pick them up for free. I believe I put a fair price on them. If I didn't let me know. I can always adjust the price

Took the whole machine down to parts for a full cleaning, sharpening, bluing, wash and repainting. Added a brush retainer to help keep the brush and water away from the frame. Added a recycled water tank, tank support, lower front cover, new brush set and water bottle. Runs like new. I have two of them on my packing line. Single SN: 8BP 0422496 Tip for a longer life. I only use bottled water in all four of my packing machines on my packing line. Clean the brushes as often as you can get your packing crew to do it. Took the whole machine down to parts for a full cleaning, sharpening, bluing, wash and repainting. Added an exclusive brush retainer to help keep the brush and water away from the frame. Added a recycled water tank, and new retrofit kit water bottle. Runs like new. I have two of them on my packing line. Single SN: 8BP 75388 Tip for a longer life. I only use bottled water in all four of my packing machines on my packing line. Clean the brushes as often as you can get your packing crew to do it. The water from the tank will not wick up as well in a brush that is full of glue. Gummed ... moretape is also the best method to seal a carton that is over stuffed or under packed. When compared with plastic tapes. Gummed tape only requires one strip on the top and bottom flaps. Standard plastic tape is only 2" wide and packers will generally use two or more strips on each the top and bottom flaps causing a doubling of the cost of labor, and an increase in overall tape expenditures. Plastic tape is affected by dust. Temperature, and time. Dust particles will cause the adhesive on the tape to become ineffective. Extreme cold and/or hot temperatures will cause the tape to deteriorate and sometimes fall off the carton. With time, some PVC tapes will actually dry out and cause the top layer of the tape to separate from the adhesives. Gummed Tape is Recyclable! Interested in conducting your own test?
