It has no cracks or breaks but because this is cast iron there are places where it did not cast perfectly but they are not noticeable except by close inspection. Up for auction is a Vintage Cast Iron Wall Grate Vent with Mechanical Door. Great for restoration of an old house! It weighs 15 lbs. The outside dimensions are 15 1/2" wide x 14" tall and the inside opening(marked) 12" x 10" Depth- top is approx 1 1/4" and bottom is 2 1/2" Scroll wheel on the side which mechanically opens and closes the flap. You are currently bidding on an antique wall register in great condition for its age. This"art deco"style vent was rescued from a house demolition recently and could be your next restoration project. A nice gloss black paint job would take this item back to origins in the early 1900's. The vent measures 14" in width by 17" in height. At its greatest depth in stretches out to 5 1/2" It appears to have been spray-painted sometime in the past. The wall vent appears to be made of steel material. But I could be wrong as I'm not an expert. Normal wear and tear is present over the entire item. Nothing that would affect it's overall purpose or use.
