For sale is an antique cast bronze air vent from the basement of a very old commercial building. The vents were mounted in a black marble base that ran across the bottom of the store front on top of the side walk. The vent is 6" x 8" and 7/8" thick. It fit into a rectangular opening sawed into the marble base. I believe the vents are bronze but they could be red brass or copper. The vent is very heavy for its size and the weight is 7 pounds and 8.5 oz each. Depending on where you live the scrap price alone could be 24.00 to 40.00 each. Up for sale is a lot of(4) vintage cast iron 8 x 10 floor registers/ furnace vents/ heat grates. The have a raised top which measures 11 3/4" x 9 3/4" and a louvered bottom which measures 9 3/4" x 8" They are 1 3/4" thick and are designed to fit into an 8 x 10 hole. All(4) mechanical tin louvers work smoothly on all(4) registers. These registers are old and have some surface rust on the textured borders and louvers. There is some wear to the original black paint. There are no cracks in the iron and I have done no restorations. They are very easy to clean up and repaint. If you so choose. This is a brass cover for a heat vent that came out of a more than 100 year old home in Ireland. There is a marking of a"Crown" over a capital letter"A" on the front center square. This is a very cool vintage round/circular cast iron grate/vent/duct cover. This one was made by Stowell Manufacturing& Foundry Company South Milwaukee. Wisconsin. The center piece is completely gone, then the grate that moves to increase/decrease the air flow. All in all this item has a 16" diameter, the center hole is 6.25" in diameter. This is an excellent advertising, metal art piece that can be used as home/office decor or wall art of some sort. Please ask questions if you have any! Pretty Antique Victorian Ornate Cast Iron Wall Register Heat Grate Vent 9.5x13.5
Here is a very pretty antique cast iron register cover. It is 13- 1/2" by 10- 1/2" With a 1- 1/4" profile. This is just the grate without the louvers underneath. We gave this a quick cleaning with a wire brush to remove the loose rust. It is pitted, and has only a couple of traces of its original finish. The cast iron is not cracked or broken. Originally this would have been used for an 8" x 12" opening. The center to center distances between the mounting screw holes are 7- 1/2" and 11- 1/2" This old cast iron heating vent has an attractive pattern that we don't see as often as some other patterns. Hello from Germany, I am selling an original VM 40 gas mask in lightly damaged condition. It is a gas mask for civilian use made of rubber called"Volksgasmaske" made by"Auergesellschaft" That´s today the company"MSA Auer" The gas mask is little damaged. The nose valve had been cut a pice for better breath! Overall the rubber is still soft and not dry rotted just dusty and uncleaned. Yuo would get eyactly what you see on the pictures. Old Vintage Ship Boat Brass or Bronze Cowl Vent Pipe
Up for auction is an old vintage ship/boat vent cowl pipe. It is 11" high and the opening is 7 3/4" in diameter and 5 1/2" deep. This cowl is mounted on a wooden shelf. With a plate, with wood screws that can easily be removed and mounted on something else. I believe it is made of brass or possibly bronze, and has a silver colored metal plating over it. The inside of the cowl has the raised letters"W over C" in the casting. It appears that the previous owner painted the inside red. The condition is as shown in the pictures. There are two screws and nuts holding it together. This came out of an estate where the previous owner had numerous nautical items from the North Carolina shore area.
