Pneumatic indexing head. I believe this is an Erickson. But the name plate is gone. Hooked it up to the compressor and tested advancing fine- Has a standard 5-pin CNC plug, but I have no idea how to test that function- the shop closed, and there's no need for this expensive piece of equipment. Check the video link out- I believe this can be used manually with a foot pedal or hand control, and may also be hooked to a CNC controller for your lathe or mill. 4" to the center of the mounting plate, 3" center-to-center on the mounting bolt holes. Add a chuck or rotary table plate. The center hole is tapered, maybe for a 3-C collet- or R8- smooth bore tho- no threads. The spindle is a precision ground pre-loaded ball bearing spindle with a 5C collet seat and either a Hardinge taper or threaded spindle nose. The head can swing from 10° below horizontal to 20° beyond vertical. The two– piece draw spindle allows the draw bar to be removed without loosening the collet. Allowing work to be easily accomplished in the vertical position. Seven index plates come with the unit. An adjustable stop plate is provided which can be locked in any position, speeding up work when doing repetitive angular milling. Here is a collet drawbar that fits both 3C and 3AT collets. It probably came from a dividing head. Indexer, vertical milling head or grinder, as it's too short for a lathe or mill. Ames 1AM collet closer / drawbar for dividing head / indexer
Here is a collet drawbar that I believe fits 1AM collets based on the minor diamter of 1.083 and the thread pitch of 24TPI. It's short. So it probably belongs to a dividing head. Note that the minor diameter is smaller than the major diameter of 1.120 for 1AM collets. Calculations for the minor diameter for 1AM collets show a range of 1.075 to 1.085. The knurled steel handwheel has six 1/4" holes for a pin spanner wrench. Threads are in good shape. See the pictures for a fabulous not-to-scale dimensioned drawing. Here is a collet drawbar that fits 5C collets. The tube is straight and not dented. Note: the collet threads in this drawbar are not full depth- they extend only about 3/8" down. It may need to have the threads extended in order to use it. Depending on the application. Please make your bidding decision accordingly. The handle is a Hardinge-style handle. Including a thrust bearing, similar to a Hardinge, however the closer is likely not Hardinge based on information I got from a Hardinge collector.
