It has its original metal blotter paper clamp that fits into the grooves at the front and rear of the rocker. An old piece of blotter paper is still in place. When held up to a strong backlight. One can see two interior lines in the glass: a vertical one in the center of the body and a horizontal one across the trunk. They cannot be felt from the outside of the piece. I have seen these same lines in other vaseline glass elephant blotters and my research indicates that these are not cracks or flaws. But rather production seam lines. Antique Copper-Seeming Writing Set Glass Inkwell Paper Clamp Letter Holder
The metal looks like copper to me. But it might be bronze or brass. On some of the high points of the design it looks yellower than the prevailing reddish copper look. But I think it is solid copper. The design is on one side only, not on backs and bottoms. I can't find a single chip on the glass inkwell. It still has ink in it, now a dry loose powder. That is corrosion on the inside of the cap. The paper clamp or clip works like new. There is some cosmetic damage to the feet of the letter rack, as can be seen in the second to last picture. Payment due within 48 hours of purchase.

Two Matching Vintage Glass Arc Canisters Jars Clamp Lids Wheat Made in France
For your consideration is the wonderful set of two matching vintage glass canister jars. These were made in France by Arc. They have a lovely wheat design all around and seem to be hand painted. The lids close by use of metal clamps and the rubber like seals seem to be original. Along with the Arc France wording and symbol on the lids. The jars say Remplissage and Nive Au De. The bottom shows that they are both 1 liter in size. Dimensions are about 7" tall and 13 1/2" all the way around at the widest point. The condition of both jars is excellent with no chips, cracks, or scratches. The wheat painting is lovely. One of the jars has a little orange residue from the seal that has rubbed off along the top edge. That seal shows a little cracking, but is totally complete. If you plan on using these for canning, the orange rubber seals ... moreshould be replaced as they are stiff but not brittle. These tiny imperfections do not detract from the beauty of the canisters, I mention them for accuracy. Overall these are great jars that will make a terrific addition to your collection.
