RARE FIND! GORGEOUS 18th CENTURY PIN CUSHION w/ DRAWER
Up for a 3 Day Auction is this extremely rare pin cushion. I believe that it is most likely 18th century or at the latest early nineteenth century. This is from my personal collection. I was walking through the house looking for a WOW thing to list and I spotted this. So. It is a cabinet/trunk with a pin cushion on the top. It has a drawer that comes completely out. Obviously used for sewing notions. The drawer is hand dovetailed. The nails/tacs have flat heads. It is a beautiful wood with wonderful patina. The fabric for the cushion is a rose color. From the feel of it. The stuffing might be some sort of straw material. The drawer is missing a knob on both ends. One was decorative and the other would have been used to pull the drawer out. One of the round feet is also missing. It usually stands nicely anyway. The piece was veneered. Particularly ... moreon each end. The veneer and veneer inlay has missing pieces. There is a small bit missing on one side on the curve. The fabric has worn spots. The ricrac has definitely darkened with age. For a piece that I believe to be around 200 years old. The condition is actually quite good. This would have come from a family of means. Perhaps a gift to a wife or mother. Happy Bidding!

Antique Bisque Jointed Doll/ Shaker Pin Cushion Blue Silk Cover This is a cute 2" all bisque doll made into a pincushion. The Shakers would wrap the tiny bisque dolls with batting and then cover the batting with a soft silk. The silk is a light blue with an attached ribbon for hanging. The doll's face has nice detail for such a tiny doll. This would be from the late 1800s to early 1900s. The doll is in good condition. But the silk wrap is work out. The cushion completely covers the doll, but I can feel the legs and arms that move on the inside where she is jointed at the shoulders and hips. I also have two similar dolls that are wrapped in batting. But there is no silk cover. Either it was worn out or was never covered. Up for a 5 Day Auction is this Sweet Hand Made Basket/Bag. I believe that it is a pin cushion. Certainly it came out of a sewing box. The body of the bag is so firm that it sort of seemed obvious. Because of the nature of the construction. Pin pricks are not obvious. Personally, I look at as an antique ornament.it is all in the eye of the beholder. So. It is ecru in color with tiny yellow posies at the mouth of the basket and one on the handle. The size of the bag part is about an inch square. The width of the ruffle is an inch and a half. The height of the bag with the handle is an inch and a half. It seemed to be in perfect condition until I saw one of the photos which shows a bit of yellowing at 2 or 3 points on the front. Vintage Doll Head Pin Cushion - Estate Item
We have a beautiful pin cushion doll. Have no idea just how old. We recently purchased her at an estate auction. The pin cushion is very hard, like it is stuffed with hay or straw. The Semi-sheer fabric covering has several rust spots, the fabric does not have any holes, but does have the rust spots. The ribbon around her neck and the bottom of the pin cushion is brittle with age. We have not taken her apart to see if there is a name as the fabric is sewed to inner pincushion. In very good condition for its great age( there is some slight age marks to either side. T his beautiful cushion has been created from panels of the most heavenly vintage eiderdown fabrics– two different designs which feature scrumptious cabbage roses. The back of the cushion has an envelope opening and is made from panels of lovely soft and creamy antique French linen. A plump scented sachet in the form of a heart accompanies the cushion. It`s filled with pure dried lavender and absolutely nothing else; it smells as gorgeous as it looks! The cotton fabric was carefully salvaged from vintage eiderdowns and you can still see little needle marks from the quilted stitching here and there– I like this evidence of its former use. Both of the fabrics are stunning– I don`t believe that there is a modern textile which comes close to their softly faded beauty. Description Wonderful antique Victorian sewing clamp. Which has been produced from steel, with blue velvet pincushion top. Beside the pincushion is a sprung clasp, which would have held material when hemming, and below with is the clamp which would have been used to fix it to a table. AGE Circa 1870's SIZE The clamp measures 10cm(4" high. 4cm(1½" deep and 9cm(3½" wide. CONDITION. The clamp is in a very good condition for age. 1940's Vintage Potty Seat with oilcloth cushion
This is a vintage potty seat(it would have sat on the toilet and has three metal brackets that would fit inside) It is from 1940. On the dot, because it was my dad's. Cute and odd as it is.I don't have room for it anymore. It makes a great conversation piece or could be used with dolls, or display. It could use a little fixing up, but the vintage patina is quite nice. It has a little decal on the back, and the oil cloth cushion has little bears on it. There is a crack in the wood that needs to be wood glued and you could refinish it. It was UTTERLY cleaned by my grandmother before it was put in the attic 71 years ago, trust me. Delightful Antique Dutch Solid Silver Cushion Shape Tobacco or Snuff Box from Schoonhoven dated 1856 This Antique Dutch Tobacco or Snuff Box measures approximately 2 inches or 5 1 mm across the width and length of its square body from side to side and it stands just over 5/8 of an inch or 1 7 mm tall to the top of its lid when closed. The Tobacco or Snuff box is made from.833 standard solid silver that has been internally gilded or gold plated in a square cushion like shape with a three section piano hinge on the back of its lid that overhangs the body slightly acting as a thumb or finger catch. The underside of the box along with the sides of the lid and base have an engraved or relief rib decoration and the top of the lid has a delightful bright cut engraved lattice and scrolled foliate decoration around a diamond shaped cartouche that ... morehas Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below. The snuff box has been impressed in several places with a full set of Dutch solid silver marks that include a Dutch.833 standard solid silver Lion Rampant along with an unknown Dutch silversmith or makers mark and it has a Dutch head mark that includes the letter M for the Schoonhoven assay office. The box has also been impressed with the Dutch date letter W for 185 6. The condition is used and Excellent for its age. The Snuff Box has No Large Dents. No Splits, No Cracks, No Holes and No Repairs that I can find, the box stands straight, the definition and decoration is very crisp, the hinge is working perfectly, the lid opens and closes tightly with ease, the Dutch silver marks are still legible although as the snuff box is a used antique the makers mark is not very legible and it has the odd small shallow dent that is hardly worth mentioning along with some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use. SC! Imagine the history that has happened around this piece! While I have no idea of its age, I am certain it is very old! The wooden base appears to be mahogany and is in superb condition. Attached to this base are three sturdy cast iron legs with beautiful ironworks designs that are in really nice condition minus flaws as seen in photos#1, 13& 14 below. The seat itself(measuring just shy of 14 inches x 14 inches) is soft, plush and spins just like new. This stool can be raised to a maximum of 26 inches in height and it can be lowered all the way down to 20 inches. The seat itself is in pretty nice ... morecondition for it's age with a few scratches around its decorative edges. It sits very comfortably and does not rock(but you can make yourself dizzy spinning around in circles on it if you like) or give that unbalanced feeling. Unusual Antique Bone Pin Cushion, Souvenir of the Great Exhibition, 1851
I have for sale an unusual antique turned and carved ox bone pin cushion. Originally bought as a souvenir of the Great Exhibition of 1851. It is tubular in shape, approx 4 cm(1.5 inches) in diameter and 3.5 cm(1.25 inches) in height. The sides are decorated with simple pierced motifs and the base is screw threaded to the inside, and must once have held a lid(now missing) perhaps for the storage of a thimble or similar. The pad appears to be the original red velvet, now somewhat faded and stained. The front of this interesting piece carries a paper label. Somewhat damaged but still legible in parts, bearing a print of the Crystal Palace(home of the famous 1851 Great Exhibition) hand coloured in parts and with the legend"The Crystal Palace 1851" written across the bottom. Condition is commensurate with age and use. There is a small ... morechip to the lower rim. Otherwise the bone is intact. As stated above, the velvet is faded and stained with age, but appears to be original. The label is torn and damaged in parts and somewhat foxed. However. This piece was made as an inexpensive souvenir for the average exhibition visitor and, as such, is a rare survivor of its time. Vintage 50s 60s Mid Century Heals Era Dutch fabric cushion cover -
I have for sale a cushion cover made from left over 50s 60s vintage Dutch fabric backed in sage green cotton fabric and fastened with a zip along the bottom. Measuring 15" by 15" I recommend a larger feather cushion pad to make it look lovely and plump.
