Up for auction is a working TDS754C digital oscilloscope. This nice unit has 4 channels and 500Mhz. And comes LOADED with the following options: 1F- Floppy disk drive, 2F- extended math. Including FFT, 2M- EXTRA deep memory for very deep acquisitions, 13- serial/parallel port, 2C- Communication option, This unit passes the self test and passes SPC every time. The error log is clean. All channels work properly. And unit triggers fine on all channels. Display is clean and bright and looks wonderful, with no burn marks. I am able to save and read waveforms and setup files on the floppy drive. GPIB operation works as expected as well. This scope is a newer vintage of the TDS series. So it is void of any of the troublesome caps on the acquisition board that plagued the older scopes of the TDS variant scopes. This is an outstanding clean unit with ... morea beautiful display, the pictures do not do justice to the brightness of the CRT on this scope. The case is extremely clean and nearly pristine condition. It is definitely one of the cleanest units I have seen in quite some time. The Dallas Real Time Clock and NVRAM modules have been replaced with much newer parts(2009 and 2011 date code respectively) So there are no worries about those parts dying anytime soon. They are also socketed now with high quality machine pin sockets, so if you ever need to replace them in the future you will not need to perform any soldering. This unit supports probes with the Tekprobe interface. P6245 and P6205 FET probes work well on this unit. No probes or accessories are included with this auction, only the scope itself. Including FFT, 13- serial/parallel port, This unit passes the self test and passes SPC every time. The error log is clean. All channels work properly. And unit triggers fine on all channels. Display is clean and bright and looks wonderful, with no burn marks. I am able to save and read waveforms and setup files on the floppy drive. GPIB operation works as expected as well. This scope is void of any of the troublesome caps on the acquisition board that plagued the older scopes of the TDS variant scopes. This is an outstanding clean unit with a nice display. Was used for development, and somehow never ended up in a trash bin and written off as tax expense. No matter what the nice tek employee tells you, be it over the phone or via email, they will NOT service it and will probably thank for returning it, and keep it… This is a nice scope. Passes power on and all user initiated self tests. Consistently passes the critical Signal Path Compensation routine(SPC) w/o exception. Running latest scope firmware V2.5.3 with out issue. Has a win98 sticker on the back but is in fact running Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3. Radisys.SF810” 566 mhz celeron, 256 megabytes, and a 6 gig hd. Front panel controls/leds are all correctly functioning. The on/off switch works but the led does ... morenot always light. Lightly touch it to light; this part is a high failure rate part, be nice too it. Floppy. Hard drive, and touch screen all work. The touch screen does have a couple of minor blemishes that can’t be seen in use. Overall this scope is in very nice condition, the only thing that seems to be wrong about it is the serial number. It has a minor ding at the upper left corner of the front bezel that might actually be a casting flaw(pictured) Keyboard and mouse not included but recommended(I like the ACK-540) Only the scope and a front cover are included with this sale. No accessories are included. Even if pictured. I’ve included a couple of pictures. But most are screen dumps to the floppy drive with the print button. Pay careful attention to the displays on screen information to get a better feel for the signals applied. I show a fast rise time signal of about 184 ps applied to all for channels with a 4 way power divider. To show input response. Next I applied a 100 mVrms to all four channels at 10 MHz. Note that at 1500 MHz, the scope easily exceeded the 70.7 mVrms–3dBm bandwidth cut off point. Bandwidth with this method appears to be at 1870 MHz. One pic

TEK 2430 is a DSO from the repairable era(circa 1987. Made same time as 2445A, 2465A, 2467) and cost over $6000 new. It is the predecessor of the 2430A. The predecessor of the the 2430 was the 468. Serial# is B012710. 1st photo shows a 1Vpp positive going 1KHz squarewave signal into CH1. 2nd photo shows it stores(cord is removed) 3rd photo shows that a signal can be stored just at the instant cord is removed. 4th photo shows same signal into CH2. 5th signal shows a 1KHz signal from a time mark generator. 6th photo shows self tests pass(doesn't prove everything is fine) 7th photo is of rear. 8th photo is of bottom. 9th photo is of left side. 10th photo is of right side. Photos were taken before refurb and calibration which I will provide if you offer $600(yes. There were digitizing scopes such as the Tektronix 2430 that actually contained normal size parts that can be worked on with human sized fingers. Tektronix TDS754C Digital Oscilloscope (754C)
Up for sale is a Tektronix TDS754C Digital Oscilloscope. If you are looking at this item you already know what it is and does. I am by no means an expert in electronics or electronic equipment. I purchased this at an auction at work and was hoping to use it on some micro controller projects. Truth is that it's way too complicated for the simple things that I am doing. I went through the tutorial in the manual. It appears that channel 1 of the 4 available channels on the front does not work. It's the only one of the channels that when you insert a probe states something about a calibration being available so it may be as simple as overwriting that; I'm not sure. It may be something that is easily fixed or it could be a faulty channel. If there is something that you would like to me try before buying then guide me and I will be ... moreglad to check that. The screenshots are from a tutorial in the manual that uses the built in 1kHz +/ 500mV signal. I was able to get that to work well on channels 2-4. It will do all kinds of measurements on the signals. I've seen other 754C's on eBay listing out all of the options. I'm not sure which options this comes with. If you know of a way for me to check that I will be glad to do so. The unit comes with the Scope. 6 P6139A Tektronix probes. One of them is labelled that it does not work but I did not test it. If it's critical for purchase I will be glad to go through the tutorial again with this particular probe. There are a couple of bags of items that look like accessories for these probes(colored rings, micro probes, etc. The unit also comes with a manual. There is a calibration certificate in the material that states it was calibrated back in 2005 so it is due for one if that's a requirement for you to use it. Being an electrical test component.
