My price is a tiny fraction of its $11000 new price(around 1991) Before digital storage scopes evolved into small lunchbox sized surface mount populated fluff boxes in the late 90s. There were digitizing scopes such as the Tektronix 2440 that actually contained normal size parts that can be worked on with human sized fingers. So unlike with newer DSOs, this item does not become e-waste first time it breaks. Tek labels the 2440 as 300MHz/ 500 Megasamples/second. Analog scopes should not be used close to their upper bandwidth limit, digitizing scopes carry the same caveat even more so. It is recommended for use at under 150MHz. Whereas a non-storage scope can only display what happens after triggering. A digital storage scope can also display what happens before triggering, and this is its main advantage it's like a time machine. You can think of it as an endless loop recorder(like a cockpit voice recorder of an airplane) and you can look back any part of the loop you haven't re-recorded over. This is a handheld portable 2-channel Tektronix Model 224 digital storage oscilloscope. I purchased it new when I was a Tech Rep but I don't have a need for it now. It comes with a very nice travel bag. Shoulder strap and a shoulder pad. It has always been under my personal care. You can be assured that it is in great condition. It has a bandwidth of 60 MHz and has 4 memory locations for saved waveforms. It is shown displaying a waveform from an external waveform generator. It has the original battery and includes the factory instruction book. The original wall power supply was lost in Egypt and the replacement from Motorola works fine. Tek 2430A has same specs as 2430 but adds convenience features such as"auto-scale" and"auto-measures" I have/had more than 1 for sale, so serial# of unit you get may be different from photo, but all are in equally very nice shape. 1st photo shows a 10Vpp positive going 1KHz squarewave signal into both CHs 1& 2. Second photo shows passing all tests except the one related to weak Li battery. Li battery was designed for 10 year life so it is normal for it to be low after 26 years. It can be replaced(read on. I initially bought the unit for the CRT screen for a higher end unit. But I realize this unit can be saved so I hope one less unit goes to landfill and it'll benefit another hobbyist.
