This has been taking up too much space in my office and I'm looking at getting a smaller form factor o-scope. I've used it for about six years. Runs well, have had no problems, and it passes its self-test. I'm not sure how well you can see in the pictures. This thing is pretty massive. It weighs over 60 pounds and is about two feet deep. Just keep that in mind if you want to bid. Also, I am*not* including any cables other than the power cable. I've looked around eBay and see this thing for nearly $400 just for parts. I don't mind if you just want to borrow it for 3 months with the purchase price as deposit. Since I'm cleaning out my lab bench. This unit has RS-232. Parallel port, FFT, and all advanced measurements built in, with deep memory(only in high-end oscilloscopes) so you can zoom in frozen waveforms and see the transient details. Deep memory oscilloscope(Megazoom) is very useful in troubleshooting difficult design bugs as it allows you to freeze a waveform and zoom in the fine details without recapturing. With Megazoom. I zeroed-in the design bug in a student project that took the professor a whole hour and still couldn't find out what's wrong with the circuit(I was the TA in an electronics lab) the problem ... morewas that his PLL locks to 2~3x the expected frequency on physiological signal but not on the simulated signal. Turns out they didn't put in a Schmitt trigger so the noise during transition confused the VCO, which counts zero-crossings, to think the signal is 2~3x faster when noisy. This oscilloscope also has high sampling rate(satisfying Nyquist) and high single-shot bandwidth so you can capture fast transient in digital circuits. Tried powering this up slowly several months ago when I received, at around 60 volts the 12B4 tube(if I recall# correctly? started turning red at the plate. So I shut it down. One of the filter capacitors is dangling loose inside. It is still connected though probably needs replacement along with the rest of the paper and filter caps. All other equipment(including test cables) is for demonstration purposes only and is not included in the auction(unless stated otherwise) I have for auction a great condition HP 1707A 75MHz Oscilloscope(Sn: 117A00293) I have owned this scope for over 30 years(actually I am the second owner) It has been extremely reliable. The case shows signs of wear(scuffs. Scratches and paint missing) Some of the knobs have clear plastic ears that are opposite the pointer. Two have cracked and have been glued on(successfully) About 5 years ago I replaced the CRT with a NOS unit. The Trace is bright and very well focused(the flash on my camera made the trace look washed out or weak in some of the pictures, it is bright) Prior to putting it for auction I cleaned all switch contacts for continued reliability. ... moreI then calibrated it using the procedure outlined in the included manual. As you will see in the pictures it is accurate. The only thing I am aware of that is not working is the power lamp. The bulb is burnt out(It’s only the bulb) This scope will run off of an external 12VDC source(cord not included, I have never used or tested this feature) Included is: the front panel cover, power cord, 2 probes 10X& 1X(both work, the 1X is slightly off on matching) and the printed manual. Note: All readings were taken after a 24 hour stabilization period at 67 degrees. Terms: I attempt to be as accurate as possible with my description and with the pictures. Remember. This equipment is used and will have normal wear and tear(including dings, scratches, sometimes fading, etc. I do not guarantee calibration. I run it through the procedure to identify problems and to set it as close as possible based on the accuracy of my equipment.
