Very good used Wilton 4" bench vise with pipe jaws(cast into the jaws) and swivel base. This vise has been cleaned and painted. But I made no attempt to dress up the scars it has received from use. The screw(last picture) was in great condition, I simply cleaned the threaded portion with degreaser. Also noteworthy is the screw handle, it is straight and doesn't appear to have ever been straightened. You can operate this vise with one finger. The replaceable jaw faces do show noticeable scarring, but they are usable. The jaws don't close perfectly, but they close tight enough for all but the finest work. As stated the jaw width is 4 inches. On the casting it reads maximum opening 5 1/2 inches, but 4 3/8 inches is the maximum opening with full screw engagement. This is a very good old vise that can give you a lifetime of service ... moreif used properly. Selling this vintage machinist precision vise. It is in pretty good shape with minimal tarnish. There are two scrapes on the top of the vice and don't effect its operation. There is no makers mark on the tool. But it was purchased at an estate sale of a former machinist that had owned many Starrett made tools. The former owners name has been imprinted on the sides and bottom. The dimensions of the vice are 6 1/4 x 1 15/16 x 1 15/16. It weights a few pounds. Presented for the jeweler. Gunsmith, or engraver is this device which is commonly called an engraving block or engraving vise. It appears to be in excellent to near-new condition with only the slightest wear. I picked this and a couple of others up with a large lot of machinist/gunsmithing tools and ephemera. This vise measures 5 inches in diameter and weighs about 15 pounds; thus. A large, Priority Mail flat rate box is the best shipping option. This vise was made by the Grobet Company. It is stamped"VICTOR BY GROBET USA" and is touted as the finest of its type in advertising where these are sold. The black colored blocks with the pin holes in them are removable. These blocks hold various attachments that allow you to hold different shaped items to work upon. These attachment sets are sold separately by jewelers supply houses as ... moreis the special wrench that you use to open and close the jaws. You can order those separately. When I purchased the tools. The other items weren’t there or had gotten separated before I entered the equation. Regardless. Buying the attachments and the special wrench to add to this will probably cost significantly less than buying a complete ensemble. The wrench is arguably superfluous as a ratchet with a 5/16 socket head will turn the screw on which the jaws open and close. I've tried it. They work perfectly! The upper half turns freely for 360 degrees. There is a little knurled knob which is removable that allows you to stop the movement of the top half. Unlike the other one that I had. This one does not separate into halves. This is the perfect opportunity to get your shop set up at a relatively minimal expense if you are just starting out. Also included is a plastic ring base that the vise sits in. Vintage Wilton 7.5" Tradesman Bench Vise- SCHILLER PARK Illinois- Swivel Base Mechanic Heavy Duty Tool N2 Vtg Made in USA* You are bidding on the Vintage Wilton Vise pictured. It is marked" WILTON SCHILLER PARK ILLINOIS USA" on one side(see Picture#2) and then marked" N2" 111092" And" 111093" on the other side(see Picture#4) This item is used. But functions properly. It has some normal use wear, mostly on the top areas of the vise grips(see Pictures) I am not sure how old it is. It belonged to my father. It could use a little cleaning as it has sat on my father's workbench for many many years. The vise is very heavy, weighing about 45 pounds on my scale(my scale has been wrong before, so give or take a couple pounds) From end to end when fuller closed, it measures about 14 inches(including the handle) ... moreIt stands about 8.5 inches tall. The vise jaws open up to about 7.5 inches(see Picture#6) and the jaws themselves are about 4 inches wide. The base has a diameter of about 7.75 inches, not including the feet used to bolt the vise down(see Picture#12) This is definitely a big vise. The jaws have some wear but appear to be in descent shape(see Pictures#7 and#8) The handle/ bar to open and close the vise turns smoothly without any issues. Please note on the side that the handle is, there appears to be a screw missing(see Picture#10) The vise still seems to function well, but you may need to find a screw to put in there. I looked around here and could not find it anywhere. I am not an expert on these items, so I tried to describe this item as best as possible. Vintage Wilton Vice. Marked Wilton Vice No 3, Chicago USA. 3" wide jaws, opens to 4 1/4" safely, maybe a little more. Marked 12-46 on bottom of square key. Front jaw is real nice, rear jaw is OK, swivel base. It does have a two chips out of cast iron directly under the rear jaw, see pencil pointing at chips, both sides are the same, same size chip and everything. Doesn't hurt the function, but they are there. The vice was cleaned and painted hammered finish green, the vice opens and closes super nice, swivels real nice, and jaws line up good. A really nice vice, even though there are a few chips missing, don't sell it short.

Up for sale is a great old Columbian#504 Machinist Vise. This vise came out of a woodworker's shop so it's had gentle use. The jaws look wonderful for a vise this old- very important! The handle is straight and the jaws open smoothly using the one finger test. I did clean up the slide because it previously had paint on it. This vise has no cracks. Welds or signs of abuse. Just normal wear and a few minor dings. This vise could be put to work immediately or would be a very easy restoration. It's heavy but shippable.
