Very good condition Dumore Tool Post grinder for 9" to 20" swing lathes. Complete system that is ready to be put to use. This 3/4 HP Universal motor system is ideal for very high spindle RPM grinding applications. With it's very high speed motor. Motor runs at about 17.000 RPM unloaded. Elements that are not 100% perfect on this Dumore. See pictures for details: New systems from the factory come with more grind wheels. Power cord stain relief at motor was broken. Cord reinforced with electrical tape by me. It is in good condition under the tape. Belts are used. The green one in the picture is the worse. And has staple( holes in it. All work well. Grinder frame has a corner ground away by a previous owner. See picture. Still structurally sound. This system comes with a complete set of spindle inserts. My father used this many times and said that it was a very good replacement for the expensive tool post grinders made for lathes with could run $500 up to over a $1000. The last photo was taken of a photo in a Stanley Carter catalog dated 1944. The casting has Stanley on it but not Carter but I could only find this item in the Stanley Carter catalogs? Vintage 1930's to 50's Diamond Dresser for Dumore tool post grinder in excellent condition. The piece itself is not marked. There is some very light rust in a few spots on the screw and a little dirt in the grooves. The piece is in nice shape otherwise and just needs clean up. The diamond tip is present but does show some ware down. This was in my grandfathers tool box and everything else he had dated to the years mentioned so should be from that era. THEMAC TOOL POST GRINDER J7 VGC
First. I want too tell you I'm not a Machinist and don't know a lot about Post Grinders. This grinder came in the way you see it. The belt was so dry that it shredded to pieces seconds after I powered it up. I did find a temporary Vacuum Cleaner belt, and belive me when I tell you, it runs as smooth as it looks. It comes with the parts shown except the extra spindle in the bottom of one photo which is a Dumore in a separate listing. If you have any question, I will try to answer them the best I can.
