CRAFTSMAN Hand Grinder Model No. 314.17340 Variable Speed Double Insulated This auction is for a vintage Craftsman Hand Grinder! It measures approx. 11 1/2" in length. I am not sure if it has ever been used or not- I don't think it has but I can't say for sure. The tool itself has some scratch/ scuff marks but it looks like that is from the holder that it is sitting in in the case(that is the separate black holder that is shown in the first picture) I plugged it in and it works- it turns on and off and the red knob adjusts the speed. It comes with some attachments and a wrench. They are still in their original packages which have never been opened. It comes with the Sears Owners manual and another booklet that shows all of the things this all-in-one tool can do- drilling. Vintage Luther Hand Powered Grinder Bench Clamp Mount 1" Stone Tool Guide VGC
I have a really nice vintage Luther screw clamp bench top mount style hand crank grinder up for auction today. Not sure of what model this is. I trued the 1" wide by 3 1/2" diameter stone up a bit, there is still a bit of wobble in the stone but the face is pretty square, the end of the shaft rotates true so it's not bent. This model has a very nice tool"vee" bottom tool rest on it that can be changed from left had to right hand position. Looks like it will clamp on up to a 2" board or bench top, this unit is super smooth, I oiled it up and cleaned it up and it runs like a sewing machine, you get it going and let the handle go and it just spins& spins. It is a grimder of some sort, the blades inside are Sharp it seem to work ok but I do not know what it's purpose is, I first though it was a knife sharpner, but I just don't know.
