This auction is for a used Starrett outside micrometer No. 230. Made by the L. S. Starrett Company in Athol, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Its range is 0" to 1" in 0.001" increments. Included is a red Starrett plastic padded carrying box and adjustment spanner. The condition of this micrometer is as follows: The thimble turns freely over the full range. The ratchet and locking wheel function properly. The faces have numerous very light scratches. When the two faces touch. The thimble zero is aligned with the sleeve zero. The body of the micrometer has light scratches and wear marks. There are some initials engraved in one side of the anvil(see photo) This micrometer is being sold as-is. It may need calibration or adjustment before being used.

Up for bid is a used Starrett 436-1 adult owned purchased from a guy at work that had them for a year Ive owned them for about 2-1/2 years. I used them for about a year till i bought some digital mics.Opens very smooth and closes very smooth also the case is in great shape I would say great shape for age one see one or two light scuffs but barely visible, got to look close to see them. The faces are in good shape as well they are not carbide faces but are still very accurate needs calibrated as of 1-17-13 so it just when out they are still dead on though thimble works as it should. please ask any questions ill respond quickly please take a look at my other inspection equipment in my ebay

Two vintage LS Starrett micrometer calipers from late father's workshop. Model number is 436. Models coated with black enamel. The units are the 1-2" model and 2-3" model. They are in nice condition with no rust or corrosion. They do not come with case but will include catalog insert page for this model. Items will be shipped priority mail.
