It has been 30-years since I purchased my Atlas 10" lathe and this is an addition that came with it and it never got used. It comes with the cast iron crank pictured(on an Acme screw) and the jaws are like-new with no marks at all. There are shallow drill point spots in 3 places which can be seen in the photo. Shop made grinding vise. No manufacturer's mark of any kind so I assume it is china made. A very nice job! I have listed it as used with no mill marks or owners ID markings. Jaws open to 4" 2 7/8" wide and 1 3/8" deep. Overall length 7 1/2" 8 pin positions for rough location for the jaws and then 1/2" adjustment from each position by angled screw. Weight 8 1/2lbs. Milling Vise with Wheel Handle/ Removable Protective Jaw Covers
Vise Very well-made vise. Found at an estate sale. Let me say that I am not an expert in this area. But I believe it is a milling vise. The metal jaws are 1.5" wide. One is 4/16's thick. While the other is 5/32's thick. There are removable plastic covers for each jaw. And they seem to be reversible. As well. The vise has a wheel handle. And this turns very quickly and easily. Balanced very well. The vise is bolted to a 5" x 4" x.5" base. This base has a hole drilled into each corner for mounting. There are also 3 more holes drilled through the base. Towards the center. The jaws open to a width of 3.5" When the protective covers are in place. Opens to a width of approx. 4" without the covers. Everything looks to be in very good condition and working order. There are some small spots of discoloration and ... morelight scratching to the protective covers. As I said. I am no expert, so if there is anything else you would like to know, please do not hesitate to ask. And. If anyone has more information on this piece. Please drop me a note!
