Cased Precision Caliper Small plush-lined fitted case just 4½” x 2” contains a delightful small caliper in brass with steel points with a 4-inch scale divided in 1/10” increments. The device was made by William Durroch(Surgical Instrument Manufacturer to the Navy and Greenwich Hospital” and I think the address on Durroch’s trade label was only in use from 1860 to 1862 which pins down the date of manufacture fairly precisely. A really beautiful little instrument in nearly mint condition.
