1 1/2" shanked Ultradex Chatter Free Boring bar. Has replaceable head so can be used for all boring style inserts and also for threading and grooving. Bar for sale has a Vnmg insert style head with it. Will trade out for Cnmg if preferred. Bar is in good shape. The head has a little wear from use. Tool works great if you follow their instructions which a copy will come with the bar that explains the adjusting knob to eliminate chatter. We use these bars for oil field parts made of 4140 to hold a 60 finish and better on bores and grooves up to 10" in diameter and 12" in length. Also for threads up to 8" deep. They take some work getting them adjusted at first but once its set and you've figured it out its pretty simple after that. Our shop is currently moving towards more mill work so we are downsizing the lathe department ... morea bit to accommodate. Boring bar 14 inches long
Hi Folks. Up for Bid is a boring bar, I know very little about it. i can tell you it is 14 inches long. Measuring from the flat to flat side the one way is 15/16" and the other way is 7/8" The screw to hold the cutter in it is broken on the head I assume it would be easy to get a new screw. There is no cutter in this bar either. In the one photo you can see where it looks like it was ground down some I dont think it would affect use but I dont know. A local company as recently consolidated its machine shop capabilities and as part of that consolidation they have closed a small research and development/ prototype shop. As a result there will be assorted tools and accessories coming available. As these items are released for disposition they will be offered for sale. I will represent the items as accurately as I am able; however. Sale is final so please ask any questions that you might have. Offered here is an Armstrong'Ace' 2046 Tool Holder that came from a small shaper. To help determine if this holder will fit your machine I took some basic dimensions. The mounting shank measures approximately 3/8" wide x 7/8" high. The bore for the tool is 1/2" Both of the boring bars shown are included. The one that is not mounted in the holder needs to be polished. As the burrs ... moreprevent it from sliding into the mount.
