This is a Welch Allyn Otoscope/Ophthalmoscope diagnostic kit. All components are in excellent condition with barely any signs of wear. The components still have their original plastic packaging included. One of the diagnostic heads is also still sealed in it's original bag. It doesn't look like this set was used much at all, it still looks like it's brand new. This kit is the MacroView 3.5v Diagnostic Set. Kit number 97210-C. The battery compartment is pristine with no issues to report. All components were tested and in perfect operating condition. The unit powers on perfectly and light is visible through both the otoscope and ophtahlmoscope heads. The unit operates off of a rechargeable battery(included) The handle doubles as a charger as well. So if you need to charge it, simply unscrew the handle and plug it in any standard ... moreoutlet! The unit additionally includes the adapter so you can use two standard C-Cell batteries to power it on as well. The battery included is a new aftermarket 72200 NiCd battery(3.5v) The battery was purchased recently and should last you a while, otherwise no guarantees are made on the battery life. This is a 3.5 V rechargeable otoscope/ ophthalmoscope set in perfect working condition! I bought it for PA school and used it a handful of times but now that Im graduating. Don't need it any more. This is a Battery operated model(batteries not included. It also comes with two attachments, and two bulbs(all pictured. I do not know how to put this together, so it is UNTESTED- but all adjustment settings turn freely and appear to work. This tool has been used- so there is wear on the item. Inside the battery compartment, there is some battery corrosion(pictured) that probably can be cleaned off. It doesn't seem to have worn into the unit itself. The case shows normal signs of wear(there is a scratch on the top- pictured, but it closes and locks into place just fine. I also do not know the age of this unit- other than that it is old. This set is an older set from the eighties my father was a doctor so I have no idea just how this works and if the batteries and bulbs are still available. Lamp for the Otoscope is 151 and the Ophthalmoscope is 152 the batteries are# 2400 Alkaline. I am assuming the lamps currently work but it needs new batteries.
