THIS ITEM IS SOLD WITHOUT RESERVE Description This is for a fine quality late Victorian or Edwardian cased surgeons scalpel set made circa 1890-1910. Made in Germany by C. Stiefenhofer of Munich. These surgical instruments have been crafted from the best German steel which is held in place by brass pins in the elegant shaped ebony handles. The set has five scalpels of varying size along with a syringe and comes in its original manufacturers case. One can only imagine the service these instruments have seen in the years shortly after manufacture when the world went to war. A fascinating piece of medical history this is one of a number of interesting items I have listed this week and is being sold WITHOUT RESERVE and with a 99p start price. ANTIQUE 1800s 1900s SURGICAL / MEDICAL SCALPEL SET "MARKED"!
Here we have a nice Indian Wars period to the turn of the century set of marked scalpels and another odd curved scalpel that is unmarked. All these instruments are in nice shape for their age and would be great replacements in any amputation kit. I have seen these these sell individually for 10 bucks or more a piece but when I get in a set that matches I kinda like to keep them that way. Antique Silver Monogrammed Corset/Boot Hook, Ink Eraser Scalpel, Nail File Set
A three piece vanity set; a corset or boot hook. An ink eraser scalpel, and a nail file with monogrammed handles in well used condition. The handles on the hook and file have had repairs made where they meet the tool portion. The scalpel appears to be original. There is tape over the blade of the scalpel as it is very sharp. Each piece is monogrammed with the letter"F" on the handle. No other markings but the handles appear to be silver plate? Lots of tarnish and some rust on the tool portion of each piece. Also many use scratches. The hook is 7 1/4" long. The scalpel is 6 1/4" long, and the file is 6 7/8" long. Thank you for looking!
