It measures approximately 7 x 9 inches and is all brass. Would have been removed from a boiler. Not sure of the age? Stirling Boilers were early forms of"water-tube boilers" used to generate steam in large land-based stationary plants or large ships. Babcock and Wilcox bought them out in 1909. Early antique cast iron Babcock window lock with spring loaded decorative iron push button. One of the earliest window locks/stops developed. Circa 1840. The threaded barrel mounts directly into the side of the window frame. The window sash is then notched allowing the window to be stopped wherever there is a notch. The spring loaded arm with a flower decoration moves in and out to release or latch the window in place. The raised and embossed vegetation, leaves and flowers on the neck of each piece is intrinsic and beautiful and circles the entire top. On the body of each piece on one side only is a gorgeous, detailed leaf and flower design. I am not going to clean this and shine it up because I love this look with the patina. The sugar bowl is almost 4 1/2" tall measured to the top of the handle. The mouth is 3 1/4" wide and the base is almost 3" The belly puffs out and obviously will have a larger measurements that both of these. The Bishop& Babcock MFG. Co. Cleveland. Metal plate(appears to be copper) with porcelain company logo attached. Plate is diamond shaped with holes at each end for mounting. The porcelain center has the company name along with a large red cross in the center. This company manufactured mechanical soda fountains around the 20's until? I do not know the date of this particular piece, but it appears old. Condition: Porcelain area is in very good condition. Metal piece on which it is mounted is discolored. But is a bright copper color under the discoloration. Piece was manufactured with a very slight curvature as if to mount on a slightly rounded surface. Size: Metal piece from point to point is approximately 6 3/4" long. And 3" wide at the center points. Vintage Babcock Soda Fountain Container 014 I bought this at an old estate sale and it is in good condition but needs a good cleaning and polishing. I always leave things such as this as is so if you want an old look you have it. The lid appears to be brass and could be easily polished if desired and the dirt can be removed. It measures 8.5" high from base to top of lid. From base to bottom of top support band is 6 7/8" that is the part below the soda fountain top. ANTIQUE Rare Dr. Babcock Milk Test Centrifuge **Great Shape** Must See!!
Up for sale is a rare antique Babcock milk tester. The tester centrifuge hold eight test bottles all of which are in good shape and included. One bottle has a small chip out of the lip but the rest are in great shape. This tester is contained within a lidded galvanized steel container. The tester is about 13" tall and 20" in diameter. The barrel has a cork(which I believe to be the original one) in the base which leads me to believe you would fill the barrel with water when testing but I am not certain.
