Vintage Bausch & Lomb May Ophthalmoscope Arc-Vue Eye Kit in Case;Dr. H.J. Helton
This auction is for a vintage Bausch& Lomb May Ophthalmoscope Eye Doctor kit in a Bausch& Lomb case. It was owned by Dr. H.J. Helton. Of Kansas City, Missouri. There are a couple old faded name tags in the case, and the name"Helton" is engraved on a few of the pieces. The piece on the left in the 5th picture says"Arc-Vue" on it. Also says Bausch& Lomb Opt. Co. USA. It has a US Patent# too. The long piece on the right of the 5th picture, says"W.A. Co. Auburn, N.Y. at the bottom. The piece in the last picture is like a flashlight body( there is a coil inside) The silver end is rusted through in one place. The items are being sold together AS IS, in used condition. Both units power on when plugged in. And seem to function as intended. Light is emitted from the otoscope and opthalmoscope heads on the 767 series, as well as from the light source on the 48740. We cannot further test if these units are working as intended, due to lack of equipment and expertise. The power cords for both items ARE NOT included in the purchase, but any IEC power cord will work. We do know that the 48740 is missing a fiber optic light pipe. This Welch Allyn ophthalmoscope/otoscope diagnostic set was purchased new. Used only in the clinical year of school by its previous owner, and has been stored away since. Minimally used and in perfect working condition- please see all of the zoomable photos. Has NiCd rechargeable replacement battery with 2 year guarantee and halogen replacement lamps for the otoscope and ophthalmoscope. All purchased brand new in March 2014(warranty/receipts for these are included) Has been professionally tested and all components function properly. Handle plugs into a 120V wall outlet for charging– no separate charger to deal with. Comes in rigid Welch Allyn storage case in excellent condition- the metal hinges and zipper are both intact. As shown on photographs, it comes with a case, 4 different light bulbs, and 2 heads(one for otoscope and one for ophtalmoscope) My guess would be that most likely it was never used or perhaps was used a few times only.
