Renovated Vintage Carbon-Steel CASE XX Knife for Camping or Kitchen A retired NASA scientist whose hobby is to renovate and repurpose various items for contemporary use is offering for sale a vintage(probably early 1900’s) CASE XX kitchen knife with a 5-1/4 inch carbon-steel blade that may be equally used as a primitive sheath knife or in the kitchen. It came from the 2002 estate sale of the Steiger family farm near New Washington. Ohio, and could easily be a hundred years old(the Case Cutlery Company was founded in 1900) The current profile of its blade indicates that this knife was used often and used hard, certainly in the kitchen and probably for butchering as well, and sharpened with an old-fashioned hand stone. Its 4-inch full tang handle has hickory bolsters fastened with three brass rivets, the trademark of Case kitchen cutlery. The ... moreblade shows multiple light scratches. Focus distances are marked"Feet& metres" from infinity to 5 feet and is adjusted by moving the lens plate along a plated click-lock slide. The diaphragm is a 2 position- Very Bright or Ordinary selector and is mounted just under the lens. This is an old vintage very heavy and well made meat cleaver/ butcher knife that belonged to my father who worked for Medford Meats in Chester Pa in the 1950s when my family first came to America. I have kept most of is meat carving and cutting tools but just cant keep everything. I dont really know anything else about this knife. It is not marked. The blade measures 7 inches long and the entire knife measures 12 inches. It is a wonderful old meat cleaver/ butcher knife! Thank you for looking at my fathers old knife. Commercial Butcher knife sharpener made by the Nichols Bros in the early 1900's. The lady I got it from said it was made in the late 1800's to the early 1900's. The Co. was open from 1875 to 1920 so it fits her time frame. Its approx. 21 3/4" overall with a 13 3/4" barrel marked Nichols Bros at the top of the carbon steel barrel. The handle I believe is stag horn and is nice and tight. I would say in good to very good used condition. I've tried to show everything in my photo's. Buyer to pay $12.50 for shipping plus the cost of insurance above $50.00(optional) I always combine shipping. I try to keep my handling charge to around a dollar but if shipping is off by more than $1.50 I refund the overage above $1.50 back to the buyers paypals account. Paypals or Cashiers Checks ONLY. This is a very nice German ww1 model 98/05 bayonet made by walter& co in 1917.The blade is very nice has not been sharpened but might have been cleaned at one time.The blade measures 14 1/2 inches tip to guard and the overall length is about 20 inches.The handles are very nice have no cracks or dings.The guard and pommel are very nice has some oxidation.The flash guard is nice.The release button still works.The scabbard is very nice has no dings and retains most of its original finish but has some lite surface oxidation.If you have any questions please contact me and if you are not from the USA please contact me for shipping price thanks. NICE WW1 German BUTCHER BLADE BAYONET W/Flashguard by Alex Coppel Dated 1917
This is a very nice and clean WW1 German BUTCHER BLADE BAYONET with FLASHGUARD that was manufactured in 1917 by Alex Coppel(the number"17" and a crown W are stamped on the spine of the blade near the crossguard) This bayonet measures just over 19 1/2 inches long with a blade that is approximately 14 3/8 inches long. NO SCABBARD INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION. JUST THE BAYONET. The blade has an unsharpened edge and there are no dings on the spine except for a couple where the spine meets the false edge. I am not sure if these are dings or light spot pitting. Looks more like very minor dings. The point is very nice and seems to be the way it came from the factory. There is some light to heavy staining on the blade. The crossguard and pommel show the same staining and patina, again, no pitting to the crossguard or pommel either. The bayonet ... morelug locking button works smoothly with no sticking or drag, a very nice and clean lug channel for the rifle bayonet lug to slide into. The metal flashguard shows some linear type dings, not real deep, but noticeable. The wooden grips are very nice with very little dings. There is one fairly deep scratch near the drain hole on the left grip panel. No heavy chips or cracks on the wooden grips that I can see. The two rivets show light rust on each side of the grips. Overall, I would rate this bayonet as in VERY GOOD CONDITION and CLEAN!

This is one excellent slide ruler like I have never seen before I found this one in a box. It has no cracks or breaks in it. Numbers and letters are not worn off. Apparently this was the computer back in the day for the retail meat butcher to price meat. One side of the slide is for Veal and Lamb. The other side is for Beef. The blade has a nice reverse frosted etch and measure 6/8 in width. It is shiny with a little pitting. No chips or cracks. The clear horn scales have a little surface weathering, no real cracks or bites. The pins are brass with iron rivet collars, giving a"birdseye" effect. The W&B box has one end out. Thick spine and a very heavy old Sheffield. Not all the razors I have to sell are without problems. But I will do my best with pictures and descriptions to let you know what you are bidding on. Here is a real nice. Heavy Wade& Butcher Straight Razor, front blade marked"HOLLOW GROUND" front tang marked Manufactured by Wade& Butcher over Sheffield, in shave-ready condition. Unique green swirled handle on this one with metal end caps. Blade: 11/16s, closed length- 6-1/8 overall length- 9-1/2" and just shy of 1/4" Thick. Blade has slight staining with no nicks, dings or chips in it. This one is quite snug at the swivel pin. Comes with an unmarked box too. This is one you don't see everyday! Wade& Butcher 6/8(near? wedge"Celebrated Chinese Razor" The info I found on these is that they were made in the 1850-1860's. With the target audience being Chinese immigrants. Apparently the"Chinese" symbols stamped on the blade are not Chinese at all, just gibberish. The blade is in excellent condition, no water spots, pitting or rust. There is a bit of chipping on the edge of the scales(see photos) This razor is NOT shave ready and will need to be honed before using. I have not seen too many of these out there, and it would be a truly unique addition to any razor collection.

Vintage Straight Razor Wade & Butcher "Fine India Steel" 13/16 Restored!
Beautifully restored near wedge 13/16 straight razor! This wonderful Wade& Butcher razor was made in Sheffield. England, pre 1891- tang lists only"Sheffield" and lacks"England" marking) The scales have been replaced with custom made charcoal linen micarta. The new wedge is custom aluminum. The blade measures 13/16 and shows minimal age wear with some hone wear and pitting. Has been hand sanded up to 2500 grit, and polished but retains minor pitting. The bevel is visible in some of the pictures. The pins are nickel silver with domed stainless steel washers. The blade has internal brass washers and the pivot hole was epoxy filled and re-drilled to precisely 1/16" The weight and feel of this razor is awesome. Feels great when stropping. And of course, the balance and feel while shaving is luxurious. The edge itself ... morefeels velvety sharp. It has been precisely honed(with 3 layers of electrical tape on the spine.
