Up for auction is an 8 quart cast iron antique Enterprise sausage stuffer/ fruit press. It has 2 patent dates of 1876 and 1883. There is nothing broken. Chipped, cracked or repaired. The crank operates smoothly from top to bottom. It comes as shown in the pics with no other attachments or parts. Any attachment you might need can be found on eBay. The entire press was wire brushed and coated with vegetable shortening to preserve and protect the look. The wood handle is crack free. A nice clean cast iron antique stuffer for your collection. Works good with no chips or cracks and is complete with all the parts that came with one of these. we cleaned it up pretty good but still needs cleaned some and will have some very minor rust that will remove easily. This is the big one that you don't have to be loading all the time. I am going to pack it right away so if i clean it without greasing it it will rust up slightly while waiting to be sold. Weighs 50 lbs before packing and will be even heavier once I double box it for shipping. Even though cast iron is extremely tough it is not impact resistant so it needs padded well. Complete with large plate. Small plate, spout, nut, basket and sieve plate. Beautiful Complete & Clean Old 8 Qt Enterprise Fruit Press w/Sausage Stuffer
This is a beautiful example of a really high quality old press. It's an 8 quart Enterprise from Philadelphia. It hasn't been touched up or refinished. Some of the old stencilling remains faintly visible. There are no cracks. Chips, or mechanical problems. It's complete with both the large diameter and small diameter cast iron plates, the cast iron plate with holes, tin strainer(if that's what you'd call it-I don't know) and finally the sausage stuffer tube and nut. I don't know if the tube is original or not but it will work. The nut appears to be original and it locks on tightly with a half turn clockwise. This press is very clean. I gently, yet thoroughly, cleaned it with soap and water as if I was going to use it myself. It wasn't all that dirty but it still took me a long time. After I cleaned it I oiled ... moreit with food safe mineral oil. All you'd need to do is give it a rinse before using it. You should periodically oil the gear shafts as necessary(I like to use mineral oil) The main frame, not counting the screw is about 19" tall to the top of the arch. It weighs 49 1/2 pounds total before packing for shipping. If you need more photos I would be glad to send them. It's a very nice clean example. Antique large 8 quart enterprise sausage stuffer cider press. Marked Philla Pa April 10 1883 and July 11 1876. The plate and upper portion of this has been repaired as can be seen in photo this was either broken or cracked but has been re-welded and all works fine. This does not include basket nor smaller plate but does have stuffer horn nut and cracklin plate along with large plate wood handle has crack as can be seen in photo. This was recently cleaned and seasoned. Other than repaired areas previously disclosed this is a pretty nice stuffer and would be excellent for use in any butcher shop. Antique National Specialty 8 quart sausage stuffer. Larder, fruit/wine, apple/cider press. Selling as found. It’s a bit dirty, a little rusty and the basket has been repaired and has a couple of rust holes in it. You may want to replace the basket ~ but it might be just fine. The press works well and would clean up nicely. Comes with large plate. Small plate, sausage stuffer, bottom plate, and basket. NOTE: Handle and sausage stuffer are inside press. THIS AUCTION IS FOR A VINTAGE 8 QT. ALUMINUM BUTCHERS' MFG. PROD. LARD PRESS IN GOOD CONDITION. IT COMES WITH EVERYTHING YOU SEE& EVERYTHING IS IN GREAT WORKING ORDER. THE ALUMINUM BASKET CAN BE REMOVED AND WASHED IN YOUR DISHWASHER FOR EASY CLEANING. THE WHITE PLATE IS AN UNBREAKABLE SAUSAGE GASKET THAT HAS BEEN CUSTOM FITTED FOR THIS PRESS. HERE IS HOW IT WORKS. It just makes it more sanitary when the sausage stays inside the press when you crank down on it. Keeping the sausage from oozing out the side of the plate. Just fill the stuffer as usual, lay the gasket on top of the sausage and crank down, the gasket acts like a spatula wiping the sides and keeping most of the the sausage from leaking out around the plate. Then when it's all the way down, just uncrank, open the stuffer and with the large center hole it's easy to ... morejust pick it up, fill the stuffer again, lay it back on the top of the sausage, close the stuffer and your ready to crank down again.
