If you google/ bing Madame Tussaud this is I believe the same Bette Davis that is featured. The good aspect of this one is that they poured her in resin type material(won't melt) which was the case of some that were used as knock offs to smaller"Wax Museums" They changed the position of the arms from the left holding the cigarette to the right and vise-versa for the right with the martini glass. This is a lifesized Bette Davis She wears a nearly identical dress to the one that Edith Head designed for her in"All about Eve" watch the movie or bing the movie. This Bette's wig need styling and a touch up of paint on the face and arms. her feet need some attention but in shoes would not show. she currently has no shoes. Fantastic vintage mannequin great animated( expression)face. Kind of comical, poseable arms, waist- a bit stiff to operate and removeable head. Arms are made of wood and one arm is slightly darker than other. don't know if the wood was stained that way or due to window fade. Hands are plaster and original to the piece. Paint is mostly original with a touch-up here or there but it is not noticeable, just mentioned for accuracy. Teenage antique/vintage mannequin from 20's/30's
Early mannequins are getting harder to find in decent condition.you can find women and men but teenagers are tough to find. He has beautiful period glass eyes with the capillaries. most likely French in origin. He stands approx. 5'8" tall and is one piece head to toes. His arms are retro fitted( new. Newer) with wooden hands-wrists and then pvc cannot be posed,arms are in the down position, but the retro fit looks fine with clothes. His head has a mold line across the top of head with minor minor pull just mentioned for accuracy. His toes have some plaster loss as well as paint, no big deal with shoes on! Vintage 1950s COUNTERTOP STORE DISPLAY MANNEQUIN 25" TALL in Very Good Condition
Vintage 1950s countertop store display mannequin is 25" tall and in very good condition. I believe the paint is all original. The paint on the face& shoes appears to be complete, the painted hair looks as if there are some small rubs& tiny flecks missing. There is a black mark on the right shoulder, a mark on back of each lower leg, some light spots on the upper right leg and some small, light marks& spots here& there. The arms are removeable and I think originally there was probably some kind of rubber banding on the arm joints to hold them in the shoulder sockets, but that is long gone. To keep the arms in place in the sockets, I wrapped masking tape around the arm joints, the tape is doubled on itself so it doesn't stick and can be easily taken off. The thumb on the left hand is partially missing and the fingers ... morehave been repaired, some chips of paint are missing and the tips of the fingers have light nicks. The thumb& fingers on the right hand are intact and do not look repaired, but there are some light stains or dirt marks on the thumb& forefinger. This little mannequin displays very nicely and has a saucy personality with that flirtatious tilt to her head. 40-s - 50's Vintage Plastic Baby Mannequin w/Glass Eyes, She Needs Your Help!
This disjointed little lady looks like she might be one of Hannibal Lechter's kids but was in fact found in storage from an old infants and children's store. Some of the plastic seams have come undone and long ago. Someone tried to tape her back together as there's still a lot of residue left on the head and an arm. And of course, the elastic cords and buttons holding her together have long since parted ways. But.I'm optimistic there's a dollmaker or the equivalent that wants to take the time and patience to glue her seams together and give her the cleanup and care she needs. And the eyes. This sitting Decter mannequin from the 60's. Came from a vintage clothing store that was closing down, years ago. The store owner had three of these sitters, and he used to refinish his own mannequins, he most likely did this one too. She is a junior model, and is in good shape. She has painted features, eyelashes, and parted lips with teeth showing. The way her hands are, she can hold flowers, a purse, or other items. She comes apart at the arms, hands, waist and one leg. Up for your consideration is a vintage store mannequin from Marshall Fields. I bought her from a woman that had a lot of her dolls some still in original boxes. She was not allowed to play with her dolls but her mother worked at Marshall Fields in the ladies under garments and she brought this display home for her daughter to play with. And yes I did buy all her other dolls. Now I will describe her the best that I can. She is 27” tall. He arms do detach to make easier to put clothes on. As you see in photos one arm is come apart but I have all the pieces. She is made of some sort plaster? She has black high heels with holes in them. My guess was for the stand she stood on. The best thing I think about this doll is her clothes. I bet you could find these outfits for adults. 1st we have a wonderful white chenille robe with 5 hearts and the ... moreone on each sleeve. Next is a light blue pajama’s set. It feels like silk? It has 3 buttons on the top with pockets. Then the bottoms have on button on side. It has little circle’s with four leaf clovers. Then there is a pink PJ’s this is a really lightweight lined feel. It has 5 button front top and one button on pants. It is adorable. Then we have the silk blue and peach long gown. The peach has 3 buttons but the blue one is missing the buttons. Both still have the original ties. Next we have a light pink gown I believe all these gowns are silk. That’s what they feel like. Next is a maroon silk robe It is missing the buttons. The finally we have a long under slip and bra. All of these clothes have been played with have are not perfect. But not bad for the age. Junior is full. Realistic size measuring 18" long by 16 tall by 8" wide. He is a 4 piece mannequin, both arms and one leg can be removed and repositioned. Brass or copper pole, magnet don't stick to pole, cast iron base chrome or nickel plated, threads are stripped base to pole but stands fine. Actually it does catch a few threads at the end. lady told us it was stripped but does tighten up. There are some numbers or markings on bottom of base but hard to make out. Tallest enough to display Military jacket. Measures approx. 37 1/2" Tall and extends to 53" plus some, starts to get a little wobbly at that height. Torso measures approx. 24" T x 18" W x 9" thick.
